PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF CASS COUNTY, NORTH DAKOTA <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />DECEMBER 17, 1985 <br />Chairman Ray Larson called the meeting to order and upon roll call, all members were present. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved as <br />written. Motion carried. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to grant approval of the following County Beer and <br />Liquor License renewals for 1986, subject to the Warren Tavern paying the balance of their 1984 real <br />estate taxes. Morris Leonard <br />Red River Valley Fair Association West Fargo <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to pass a resolution of appreciation to Gordon Sletmoe <br />for his 331; years of service to Cass County upon his retirement as Cass County Disaster Emergency <br />Services Director. Motion carried. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that County offices be closed at 12:00 Noon on <br />December 24th and at 3:00 P.M. on December 31st for the Christmas and New Year holidays. On roll call <br />vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />The Board discussed payment of County bills for the end of the year, and they decided not to meet <br />on Tuesday, December 31st but they will meet on January 2, 1986, to pay the bills. <br />Correspondence was received from Earl Pomeroy, Commissioner of Insurance, stating that premiums to <br />political subdivisions will be increased substantially if the next legislative session spends more of the <br />reserves of the State Fire and Tornado Fund. Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that Scott <br />Krueger, Administrative Assistant, draft a letter along the guidelines as presented by the State <br />Insurance Commissioner to be sent to all State Legislators. Upon discussion, Mrs. Stanton suggested to <br />include asking for limitations on liability and the Board was in agreement. On roll call vote, the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to schedule a meeting on the revised Personnel Policy <br />Manual for January 21, 1986 at 7:00 P.M. in the Juvenile Justice Center basement meeting room. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to receive and file the following Officer's Reports <br />for November, 1985: Motion carried. <br />Clerk of Court <br />County Court <br />Register of Deeds <br />Sheriff <br />Veterans Service Office <br />6,456.00 <br />$29,627.53 <br />$12,766.10 <br />8,953.22 <br />Mrs. Stanton reported that she and Commissioner Wieland have not met to review proposed 1986 salary <br />increases for department heads so the item was not on the agenda for today. <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to send a resolution of condolences to the family of <br />Roger Maris, major league baseball player formerly from Fargo. Motion carried. <br />On motion by Mrs. Stanton and seconded by Mr. Sondrall, the meeting was adjourned. <br />6278 <br />Co.
