On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Wieland seconded that the Disaster <br />Emergency Services be under the supervision of the Sheriff's <br />Department, effective January 1, 1986. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. Mr. Wieland suggested a periodic report on how <br />much time is spent on Disaster Emergency Services related items. <br />Mr. Sondrall asked if this would be jeopardizing the County's Federal <br />and State reimbursements, but Sheriff Rudnick stated that several <br />Sheriffs throughout the State are doing this. <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the Chairman <br />be authorized to sign the utility permit with George Grindberg and <br />R &R Construction to place drain tile in the County Road 4 ditch from <br />Drain 56 west. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />The County Engineer reported that a bridge between Sections <br />19 -30, Reed Township, was closed due to its poor condition, and he <br />feels it is beyond repair. <br />Information was received from the States Attorney on definitions <br />of executive, administrative and professional personnel who are exempt <br />from the overtime pay requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act. <br />Mr. Hoy suggested that the Salary Review Committee look at which <br />County employees would be exempt, except for the Social Services <br />department at this time. <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to accept and file <br />the 1984 State Audit Report of Cass County. On roll call vote, the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br />Scott Krueger, Administrative Assistant, discussed membership <br />on a county cemetery authority, and he stated that Veterans Service <br />Officer John Meyer deals with military burials and could perhaps serve <br />as sexton for the Springvale Cemetery, with the County Auditor being <br />the secretary. In the absence of Commissioner Stanton, an item will <br />be placed on the agenda next week for appointment of a cemetery <br />authority. <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that Melody Jensen, <br />Assistant States Attorney, be authorized to attend a seminar in Duluth, <br />Minnesota, on October 31 through November 1, 1985. On roll call vote, <br />the motion carried unanimously. <br />Correspondence was received from the Lake Agassiz Regional <br />Council giving a deadline of November 8, 1985, for making application <br />for fiscal year 1986 Community Development Block Grant funds. <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to receive and file <br />the 1984 -1985 Annual Report of the Min -Dak Health Systems Agency, <br />Inc. and the 1984 Annual Report of the North Dakota Housing Finance <br />Agency. Motion carried. <br />
