REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />JULY 16, 1985 <br />Chairman Ray Larson called the meeting to order and upon roll <br />call, all members were present. <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the minutes of <br />the previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br />Forty -three applications were received for the position of Clerk <br />of the District Court for Cass County. Commissioners Wieland and <br />Stanton will begin a preliminary review of the applications. <br />A comment was received in the Suggestion Box from a County <br />employee stating that the chairs in the Courthouse lunch area have <br />snagged people's clothing. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded <br />to purchase 28 chairs for the Courthouse lunchroom from Dakota Food <br />Equipment at a price of $34.95 each. The motion carried on roll call <br />vote with four members voting "Aye" and Mr. Larson opposing. <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to receive and file <br />the following Officer's Reports for June, 1985: Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Clerk of Court 4,976.25 <br />County Court $24,633.76 <br />Register of Deeds $12,839.00 <br />Sheriff 8,609.93 <br />Veterans Service Office <br />Upon the request of Glenn Ellingsberg, Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. <br />Sondrall seconded that the Sheriff's Department be authorized to <br />purchase three 8- channel portable radios at a total cost of $5,500.00 <br />on a 50 -50 matching basis with the Federal Government, this to be <br />paid from the Disaster Emergency Services budget. On roll call vote, <br />the motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the Cass County <br />Commission send a letter to all department heads and elected officials <br />informing them that we have hired John Welton to do a safety study, <br />and the Commission will appreciate and expect their full cooperation; <br />and that Gordon Sletmoe and Glenn Ellingsberg will be contacting them <br />along with Mr. Welton in the very near future to review their operation. <br />On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Commissioner Stanton received a complaint about both of the <br />County Court Judges being absent from the Courthouse at the same time, <br />and she requested the Administrative Assistant to talk to the two <br />Judges about arranging their schedules so that at least one of them <br />is present during office hours as much as possible. <br />Sheriff Don Rudnick was appointed by the County's elected <br />officials for a two -year term on the North Dakota Association of <br />
