PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF CASS COUNTY, NORTH DAKOTA <br />Motion <br />without C mmissionaapprbovalrsfor Stanton <br />someone that <br />who a has resigned, but d that the hCommissionhbeeinformedeofasuchna <br />change. The motion was seconded by Mr. Sondrall and carried upon roll call vote with all members voting <br />"Aye Sheriff Rudnick stated that he will direct a letter, as Chairman of the Salary Review Committee, <br />to the Department Heads informing them of this action by the Board. <br />Mrs. Stanton stated that the issue of salaries to department heads and elected officials has not <br />been settled yet for 1985. Sheriff Rudnick stated that there was a lack of communication between the <br />Commission and the Department Heads which caused the Department Heads to not want to have their positions <br />evaluated, along with the fact that not all County positions were going to be evaluated at that time. <br />I Scott Krueger, Administrative Assistant, was requested to contact Mr. Joe Novak to evaluate the positions <br />of all County Department Heads, and to send a directive to the Department Heads prior to the evaluation. <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to reappoint Charles Anderson and Laurence Barfuss to <br />the Cass County Weed Control Board for 4 -year terms to expire July 1, 1989 and to reappoint Mr. Lynn <br />Goltz to the City of Leonard Planning and Zoning Commission for a 5 -year term to expire July 1, 1990. On <br />roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Upon the request of the County Road Department personnel, Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall <br />seconded to declare Friday, July 5th, as a vacation day for Road Department employees. On roll call <br />vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the Chairman and the Auditor be authorized to, sign <br />City Pothole Agreements with the City of Buffalo in the amount of $489.00 and with the City of Argusville <br />in the amount of $529.00. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the Chairman be authorized to sign utility permits <br />with Cass County Electric Cooperative to bury cables on County Road 6 east of Chaffee and on County <br />Road 7 between Sections 13-18, Highland Watson Townships. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Correspondence from the State Entomology Department, regarding funds for grasshopper control, was <br />referred to Mr. Eckert. <br />Mr. Eckert reported that a steam locomotive at Bonanzaville, U.S.A. was placed there by the <br />Burlington Northern Railroad Company subject to -it's being insured for $100,000.00. Mr. Eckert moved and <br />Mr. Sondrall seconded to include this steam locomotive on the County's insurance coverage at a cost of <br />$500.00 per year. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to send a letter to the Red River Valley Fair <br />Association and to Bonanzaville informing them that due to rising costs of insurance which are becoming <br />extremely difficult for the County to pay, any additional facilities or machinery that are to be added at <br />the Fairgrounds or Bonanzaville must be approved by the Cass County Commission prior to the building or <br />acquiring of it. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to receive and file the letter from the office of <br />Attorney General finding the Cass County Jail and Juvenile Detention Center to be in compliance with the <br />intent of North Dakota law and jail rules; and that the Commission commend the Sheriff and the Jail and <br />Juvenile Detention Center personnel. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />On motion by Mrs. Stanton and seconded by Mr. Sondrall, the meeting was adjourned. <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />JUNE 25, 1985 <br />Chairman Ray Larson called the meeting to order and upon roll call, all members were present. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved <br />corrected. Motion carried. <br />as <br />A letter and a Certificate of Compliance from the Office of the Attorney General for the operation <br />of the County Jail and Juvenile Detention Center were presented to Walt Willis, Chief Correctional <br />Officer. The Chairman commended him for their operation of the facilities. <br />Mr. Lowell Brenna reported that he has completed hiring <br />Cemetery Relocation project, and work will begin at 8:00 A.M. on <br />Mr. Eckert seconded that the County Auditor be authorized to <br />Springvale Cemetery when it is received.
