Concerning maintenance of Springvale Cemetery, Mr. Wieland <br />suggested that Commissioners Eckert and Sondrall work out some details <br />with a retired couple who is interested in cemetery maintenance, and <br />report back to the Commission. <br />Mr. Brenna presented a composite of the informal bids received <br />for the cemetery relocation project. He presented four options <br />ranging in price from the highest bid of $472.00 /grave for moving <br />35 to 50 graves to a low bid of $187 00 /grave for moving all 365 graves. <br />The lowest bid does not include grave markers or concrete vaults, <br />which should be considered for improved future grounds maintenance. <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to approve Option <br />#4 which is to move a total of 365 graves at a cost of $68,355.00 <br />or $187.00 per grave, and to reconsider the purchase of concrete vaults <br />next week. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the cemetery <br />relocation project begin on July 1, 1985. On roll call vote, the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br />Discussion was held on the draft of "Cass County Personnel <br />Policies" as prepared by the Administrative Assistant's office. Mrs. <br />Stanton stated that it needs a considerable amount of review and <br />recommended holding an informal meeting for this purpose. Jim <br />Thoreson was present representing County employees, and he stated <br />that the employees would like some input because there a number of <br />changes from the present policy. Correspondence was received from <br />Cass County Social Services with comments and suggestions on the <br />proposed manual. The Chairman set the date of June 18th at 7:00 P.M. <br />in the Commission Room for employees, Department Heads and <br />Commissioners to review the manual. <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to receive and file <br />the letter of resignation from Ruth Hellem as Clerk of District Court <br />for Cass County, effective July 1, 1985. Motion carried unanimously. <br />The Commission again considered the 2 -year loss control and <br />safety program as proposed by John Welton of Safety Consultant <br />Services, Inc. Steve Grindberg, County Road Superintendent, asked <br />if this would duplicate efforts of the Workman's Compensation Bureau, <br />but Mr. Welton stated that the Bureau strictly performs inspections <br />while he provides education for safe and efficient productivity of <br />County departments. Mr. Sondrall moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded <br />to hire Safety Consultant Services, Inc. on a one -year basis at a <br />cost of $1,000.00 initially plus $500.00 per month, with an option <br />on the second year. The motion carried on roll call vote with four <br />members voting "Aye Mr. Eckert opposing. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to approve out of <br />state travel for Beverly Bohn, Social Services employee, to travel <br />to Fergus Falls, MN on June 28 and July 1, 1985. On roll call vote, <br />the motion carried unanimously. <br />
