PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF CASS COUNTY, NORTH DAKOTA Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to send the letter to the North Dakota Congressional delegation and to the President of the United States endorsing the proposed cut in Federal Revenue Sharing. The motion carried on roll call vote with Mrs. Stanton, Mr. Larson and Mr. Wieland voting "Aye Mr. Sondrall and Mr. Eckert opposing. Scott Krueger asked for some direction for Architect Richard Moorhead to proceed on the building plans. The Commissioners were in agreement on the concept of providing a suite of offices for the Auditor, Treasurer and Register of Deeds which calls for a central counter /reception area for customers. This change would necessitate providing for a new Commission Room that should be available for other purposes, such as a Social Services group intake room. Bids were received at 10:00 A.M. for annual Road Department supplies. Bids were received for grader blades from the following: Northwestern Equipment Company Butler Machinery Company General Equipment and Supplies Bids were received for ready -mix concrete from the following.: Ames Ready Mix F -M Ready Mix_ Bids were received for gasoline and diesel fuel from the following: Nichelson Oil, Inc. Farstad Oil, Inc. Albrecht Lumber Supply, Inc. Dan's Oil Service, Inc. Bids were received for bridge lumber from the following: Albrecht Lumber Supply, Inc. BaTech, Inc. Wheeler Division -St. Regis Corporation Bids were received for reinforced concrete pipe and pre -cast box culverts from the following: Hancock Concrete Products Company, Inc. Concrete Sectional Culvert Company North Dakota Concrete Products Company Bids were received for pre -cast concrete bridge decks, beams and girders from the following: North Dakota Concrete Products Company, Inc. Bids were received for structural and reinforcing steel from the following: Fargo Tank Company Bids were received for corrugated metal culverts and structural plate pipe arch culverts from the following: BaTech, Inc. Fargo Culvert Company H. V. Johnston Culvert Company Bids were received for asphalt products from the following: Christianson Asphalt Products, Inc. F -M Asphalt, Inc. Northern Improvement Company One bid was received for asphalt crack sealing from Pavement Maintenance, Inc. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to receive and refer the above bids to the County Road Department for tabulation and recommendation. Motion carried unanimously. Upon the request of Steve Grindberg, County Road Superintendent, Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to advertise for bids in conjunction with Clay County for a paint striper, subject to approval of the States Attorney. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Steve Grindberg requested permission to remove the bridge north of Harwood which was closed due to its poor condition. He stated that it would be easier to remove it while there is ice on the river. The Commissioners suggested that Mr. Eckert and a representative from the delegation that appeared before the Commission meet at the site with the engineering firm who is preparing the second opinion on the bridge. Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to authorize the removal of the bridge contingent upon the report of the second engineer if it corroborates the first engineer's report.
