PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF CASS COUNTY, NORTH DAKOTA <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to send the letter to the North Dakota Congressional <br />delegation and to the President of the United States endorsing the proposed cut in Federal Revenue <br />Sharing. The motion carried on roll call vote with Mrs. Stanton, Mr. Larson and Mr. Wieland voting <br />"Aye Mr. Sondrall and Mr. Eckert opposing. <br />Scott Krueger asked for some direction for Architect Richard Moorhead to proceed on the building <br />plans. The Commissioners were in agreement on the concept of providing a suite of offices for the <br />Auditor, Treasurer and Register of Deeds which calls for a central counter /reception area for customers. <br />This change would necessitate providing for a new Commission Room that should be available for other <br />purposes, such as a Social Services group intake room. <br />Bids were received at 10:00 A.M. for annual Road Department supplies. Bids were received for <br />grader blades from the following: <br />Northwestern Equipment Company <br />Butler Machinery Company <br />General Equipment and Supplies <br />Bids were received for ready -mix concrete from the following.: <br />Ames Ready Mix <br />F -M Ready Mix_ <br />Bids were received for gasoline and diesel fuel from the following: <br />Nichelson Oil, Inc. <br />Farstad Oil, Inc. <br />Albrecht Lumber Supply, Inc. <br />Dan's Oil Service, Inc. <br />Bids were received for bridge lumber from the following: <br />Albrecht Lumber Supply, Inc. <br />BaTech, Inc. <br />Wheeler Division -St. Regis Corporation <br />Bids were received for reinforced concrete pipe and pre -cast box culverts from the following: <br />Hancock Concrete Products Company, Inc. <br />Concrete Sectional Culvert Company <br />North Dakota Concrete Products Company <br />Bids were received for pre -cast concrete bridge decks, beams and girders from the following: <br />North Dakota Concrete Products Company, Inc. <br />Bids were received for structural and reinforcing steel from the following: <br />Fargo Tank Company <br />Bids were received for corrugated metal culverts and structural plate pipe arch culverts from the <br />following: <br />BaTech, Inc. <br />Fargo Culvert Company <br />H. V. Johnston Culvert Company <br />Bids were received for asphalt products from the following: <br />Christianson Asphalt Products, Inc. <br />F -M Asphalt, Inc. <br />Northern Improvement Company <br />One bid was received for asphalt crack sealing from Pavement Maintenance, Inc. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to receive and refer the above bids to the County Road <br />Department for tabulation and recommendation. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Upon the request of Steve Grindberg, County Road Superintendent, Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall <br />seconded to advertise for bids in conjunction with Clay County for a paint striper, subject to approval <br />of the States Attorney. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />Steve Grindberg requested permission to remove the bridge north of Harwood which was closed due to <br />its poor condition. He stated that it would be easier to remove it while there is ice on the river. The <br />Commissioners suggested that Mr. Eckert and a representative from the delegation that appeared before the <br />Commission meet at the site with the engineering firm who is preparing the second opinion on the bridge. <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to authorize the removal of the bridge contingent upon the <br />report of the second engineer if it corroborates the first engineer's report.
