RESOLUTION # 2002-13 <br />MARRIAGE LICENSE WAITING PERIOD <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the North Dakota Century Code Chapter 14-03 does not set any <br />waiting pedod between the issuance of a marriage license and the solemnization of <br />the marriage; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the establishment of a waiting period would allow time for the <br />review of the mardage license application and investigation of questionable <br />documents and statements made on the marriage license application. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the Cass County Commission <br />supports the adoption of a five-day waiting period between the issuance of a <br />marriage license and the solemnization of the marriage. <br /> <br />APPROVED: <br /> <br />Alon Wieland, Chairman <br />Cass County Board of Commissioners <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Michael Montplaisir -Auditor <br />Cass County, North Dakota <br /> <br />M:\MIN UTES\Cornm2002~2002-13RES,doc <br /> <br /> <br />
