REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS NOVEMBER 6. 1984 call. all members were present. of the previous meeting be approved I I Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that Vouchers No. 47.589 through No. 48.352 and Revenue iSharing Vouchers No. 426 through 430 be approved and ordered paid. On roll call vote. the motion lcarried unanimously. ! Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to authorize Mr. Sondrall to serve in place of Mrs. I'Stanton on the Canvassing Board that will be meeting on Friday. November 9. 1984. at 1:30 P.M. Motion carried. , There was no report from the Road Department. On motion by Mr. Larson and seconded by Mr. Eckert. the meeting was adjourned. REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS NOVEMBER 13. 1984 Chairman Stanton called the meeting to order and upon roll call. all members were present. Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Wieland seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. Upon the recommendation of the County Road Superintendent. Mr. Sondrall moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the Chairman and the Auditor be authorized to sign the Resolution awarding the low bid of Wanzek Construction. Inc. in the amount of $202.715.60 for bridge replacement projects between Sections 17-18. Rochester Townshi P. on County Road 1 and also between Secti ons 8-9. Maple Ri ver Townshi p. On roll call vote. the motion carried unanimously. Discussion was held on events of the General Election held on November 6. 1984. regarding mechanical difficulties with the vote counting machines. length of time involved for election workers and the public not being well enough informed on use of the paper ballots. Mrs. Stanton felt that the County needs to be concerned with the vote counting machine which broke down during the counting process. The Audi tor reported that offi ci al s from the Ameri can Informati on Systems. where the County purchased the present voting system. will be coming to Cass County in the near future to check on this machine. The Commissio,ners asked to be included in those discussions. Scott Krueger. Adm; ni strati ve Assi stant. reported that the schedul e of the County Court Judges does not permit them to attend the Commission meeting this morning. but Judge Donald Cooke supplied i nformati on on County Court Reporter Transcri pts. Mrs. Stanton stated that it appears that 30% of the transcripts were prepared during the County's 40hour work week. The matter will be discussed further next Tuesday. Discussion was held with the County Sheriff's Department on advertising for bids for the purchase of four new patrol cars. Commissioner Larson will work with the Sheriff's Department and the States Attorney on the proper bid process to be followed. Concerning County office hours during the Christmas holiday. it was suggested that the County offices be closed all day on Monday. December 24th. but remain open all day on Monday. December 31st. Scott Krueger will discuss this idea with the department heads and report back to the Commission next week. Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the Cass County Commission not meet during the week of December 24th. and that the Regular Meeting for the next week be held on Wednesday. January 2. 1985. On roll call vote. the motion carried unanimously. Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Larson seconded to grant approval to the Chaffee Summer Activity Club to have Bingo at the Chaffee School on November 30. 1984. and to have a Raffle at the Chaffee School on December 20. 1984.
