<br />gate use of present extraordinary outlay levy for new construction instead of for remodeling the Courthouse as it was
<br />3-mill extra-ordinary, approved. Before authorizing the Architect to proceed with plans and specifications for a South
<br />outlay levy I Addition, the Commission would like to review the space study conducted by the Architect.

<br />Bid for used motor lOne bid was received from Northwestern Equipment, Inc. for a used 1983 model motor grader for
<br />grader awarded to the Cass County Road Department in the amount of $73,610.00, which includes trade-in of a 1966 model
<br />Northwestern Equip. for $5,500.00. Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to accept the bid of Northwestern
<br />Equipment, Inc. for a used motor grader in the amount of $73,610.00. On roll call vote, the motion
<br />carried unanimously.

<br />Discussion was held on delaying the Courthouse exterior restoration project on the south side due
<br />to the proposed construction of a south wing. Scott Krueger stated that the contracter for the project
<br />has submitted a cost-savings, as an amendment to the contract in the amount of $4,400.00, if the south
<br />side restoration is not done. One-half of the savings would go back to the State Historical Society. The
<br />Commission questioned taking a chance on not having the south side restored in the event they decide
<br />not to build an addition there. The matter was referred back to Mr. Krueger for further investigation.
<br />
<br />An item will be referred to the County's group health insurance committee pertaining to a part-time
<br />employee in the County Social Services Department who has been rejected by Blue Cross-Blue Shield as a
<br />participant in the County's plan for family coverage due to a particular health problem of the employee.
<br />
<br />Committee reports were given. Mr. Sondrall reported that he discussed the County's interest in
<br />hi ring the services of a part-time planner with the Executive Di rector of the Fargo-Moorhead Metropolitan
<br />Council of Governments. He was informed that the County can use $5,000.00 worth of planning from
<br />their office for certain projects. The matter will be discussed at the next County Planning Commission
<br />meeting.
