<br />PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF CASS COUNTY, NORTH DAKOTA <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the above bids be referred to Architects Clark <br />Holman and Moorhead for tabulation, inspection and recommendation next week. On roll call vote, the <br />motion carried with all members present voting "Aye". <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to approve the Site Authorization Permit for the <br />Coalition for Disabled Persons to hold games of chance at the Shamrock Bar in Everest Township for <br />the period of July 1, 1984 through June 30, 1985. On roll call vote, the motion carried with all <br />members present voting "Aye". <br /> <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to receive and file the letter from Neil L. Fahlsing of <br />the State Attorney General's Office stating that his inspection of the Cass County Jail and Juvenile <br />Detention Center show both facilities to be in compliance with the intent of "!orth Dakota law and Jail <br />Rules. On roll call vote, the motion carried with all members present voting "Aye". <br /> <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to receive and file the letter from Attorney General <br />Robert O. Wefald enclosing a Certificate of Compliance for the Cass County Jail and for the Cass <br />County Juvenile Detention Center, both facilities having been approved for Grade One operations <br />under North Dakota law and Jail Rules. On roll call vote, the motion carried with all members present <br />voting "Aye". <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to approve the request for payment from the <br />Stoutland Construction Company in the amount of $4,220.00 on the Courthouse Exterior Restoration <br />Project, as presented by Architects Clark Holman and Moorhead. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />with all members present voting "Aye". <br /> <br />The Chairman received a letter from Architect Royce A. Yeater regarding historic preservation <br />funds. Upon the request of Mrs. Stanton, Mr. Eckert moved that a letter be sent to Congressman <br />Mark Andrews requesting his support on continued Federal appropriations for historic preservation and <br />restoration. However, Mr. Wieland stated that he would rather see the Federal budget deficit <br />decreased. In the absence of the Vice Chairman, Mrs. Stanton relinquished the Chair to Commissioner <br />Wieland for the purpose of seconding the motion. At the call for the question, the motion carried on <br />roll call vote with Mr. Eckert and Mrs. Stanton voting "Aye", Mr. Wieland opposing. <br /> <br />Mr. Eckert reported on the problem of water standing in the parking lot at the Juvenile Justice <br />Center due to recent rainfall. Mr. Wieland, suggested obtaining a price from the County Road <br />Superintendent on what it would cost to resolve the problem. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that Vouchers No. 43,672 through No. 44,449 and <br />Revenue Sharing Vouchers No. 400 through No. 402 be approved and ordered paid. On roll call vote, <br />the motion carried with all members present voting "Aye". <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Eckert seconded to receive and file a letter from the North Dakota <br />State Water Commission stating that they accept the terms for the rental of an office at the Cass <br />County Road Department in West Fargo as outlined in Cass County's letter' of May 17, 1984. On roll <br />call vote, the motion carried with all members present voting "Aye". <br /> <br />The Board reconvened as a County Board of Tax Equalization. No one appeared to protest their <br />assessment. On motion by Mr. Eckert and seconded by Mr. Wieland, the Chairman declared the County <br />Board of Tax Equalization adjourned. <br /> <br />On motion by Mr. Eckert and seconded by Mr. Wieland, the Chairman declared the regular <br />meeting of the Board of Cass County Commissioners adjourned. <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />JUNE 12, 1984 <br /> <br />Chairman Stanton called the meeting to order and upon roll call, all members were present. <br /> <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting be <br />approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Upon the recommendation of Architect Irv Holman, Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Larson seconded to <br />accept the low bid of Pierce Roofing Company in the amount of $29,245.00 for the repair of the Cass <br />County Jail roof. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. H. A. Hendrickson appeared before the Board to arrange a tour of the Garrison Diversion <br />Conservancy Project for the County Commissioners to attend. The date was set for Tuesday, June <br />19th, after the County Commission meeting. <br /> <br />Mr. Hendrickson requested the Cass County Commission to consider making a contribution to the <br />proposed construction of a Heritage-Hjemkomst Center in Moorhead, Minnesota. The Chairman <br />suggested that he approach the Commission again during budget sessions this fall. <br /> <br />Regarding terms expiring July 1, 1984, on the Cass County Housing Authority, the County Weed <br />Control Board and the City of Casselton Planning and Zoning Commission, the Commission set the date <br />of June 26, 1984, for making appointments. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />f)168 <br /> <br />Site Auth.
