PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF CASS COUNTY, NORTH DAKOTA G148 Mr. James Ormand was present on behalf of the Villa' Nazareth d/b/a Friendship Village requesting support from the Cass County Commission in their application for funds for group homes. On February 14, 1984, the Commission passed a motion in support of a similar application by Fraser Hall, Inc. Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to send a letter of support to Friendship Village in their efforts to establish two 8-bed intermediate care facilities for developmentally disabled children. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Friendship Village req. support of Cass Co. in their appl. for funds for group homes for disabled children Upon the recommendation of the County's Computer Study Committee, Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Larson seconded to lease-purchase the NCR 9300 Processor and related equipment as outlined by the Administrative Assistant in his report to the Commission on February 21, 1984, with delivery to be made in July. On roll call vote, t'he motion carried unanimously. The Board received copies of the inspection report on the Cass County Courthouse Roofing and Tower Restoration from Architects Clark Holman and Moorhead, Ltd. Co. to lease-purchase. NCR 9300 Processor & related equipment Cthse. Roofing & Tower restoration Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to receive and file the letter from North Dakota State Governor, Allen I. Olson, commending Cass County Disaster Emergency Services Director Gordon Sletmoe for his actions in coordinating emergency response during the severe blizzard of February 4-5, 1984. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Mr. Eckert reported that he talked to Jack Strickland from the Rust Insurance Agency regarding the County's liability insurance. Mr. Eckert was informed that all persons appointed to various Boards by the County Commission would be covered under the County's General Liability,' and Mr. Strickland is still checking to see if these people would be covered under the Errors and Omissions insurance. DES Director commended by Gover- nor on emergency response Co. liability ins. discussed Correspondence from the Riverside City Auditor requesting the appointment of Mrs. Duane (Alice) Benson to the Riverside Planning and Zoning Commission from their extra-territorial jurisdiction was referred to Mr. Wieland to determine if Mrs. Benson lives within the City of Riverside's one-half mile jurisdiction. Riverside City Aud. submits letter req. appt. of Mrs.Alice Benson Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the Chairman and the Auditor be authorized to sign the County Deeds for the sale of the following: 20 lots to the City of Riverside for $1.00 per lot and to cancel the 5-year delinquent general taxes and specials in the amount of $68,050.09; 6 lots to the City of Casselton .for $1.00 per tot and to cancel the S-year delinquent general taxes and specials in the amount of $3,134.80; and 2 lots to the City of Leonard for $1.00 per lot and to cancel the S-year delinquent general taxes and specials in the amount of $303.01. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Sale of lots to City of Casselton, City of Riverside and Leonard Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the check from the Office of the Attorney General in the amount of $94.00 representing two-fifths of the gaming taxes generated within Cass County for the quarter ended December 31, 1983, be placed in a separate fund for the Sheriff's Department to be used for the enforcement of the State's gaming laws. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Atty. Gen. Office sends check for $94.00 for enforce- ment of State gaming laws in Cass Co. Committee reports were given. On motion by Mr. Larson and seconded by Mr. Wieland, the meeting was adjourned.
