<br />PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF CASS COUNTY, NORTH DAKOTA <br /> <br />G148 <br /> <br />Mr. James Ormand was present on behalf of the Villa' Nazareth d/b/a Friendship Village <br />requesting support from the Cass County Commission in their application for funds for group <br />homes. On February 14, 1984, the Commission passed a motion in support of a similar application <br />by Fraser Hall, Inc. Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to send a letter of support to <br />Friendship Village in their efforts to establish two 8-bed intermediate care facilities for <br />developmentally disabled children. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Friendship Village <br />req. support of <br />Cass Co. in their <br />appl. for funds for <br />group homes for <br />disabled children <br /> <br />Upon the recommendation of the County's Computer Study Committee, Mr. Eckert moved and <br />Mr. Larson seconded to lease-purchase the NCR 9300 Processor and related equipment as outlined <br />by the Administrative Assistant in his report to the Commission on February 21, 1984, with <br />delivery to be made in July. On roll call vote, t'he motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />The Board received copies of the inspection report on the Cass County Courthouse Roofing <br />and Tower Restoration from Architects Clark Holman and Moorhead, Ltd. <br /> <br />Co. to lease-purchase. <br />NCR 9300 Processor <br />& related equipment <br /> <br />Cthse. Roofing & <br />Tower restoration <br /> <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to receive and file the letter from North Dakota <br />State Governor, Allen I. Olson, commending Cass County Disaster Emergency Services Director <br />Gordon Sletmoe for his actions in coordinating emergency response during the severe blizzard of <br />February 4-5, 1984. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Eckert reported that he talked to Jack Strickland from the Rust Insurance Agency <br />regarding the County's liability insurance. Mr. Eckert was informed that all persons appointed to <br />various Boards by the County Commission would be covered under the County's General Liability,' <br />and Mr. Strickland is still checking to see if these people would be covered under the Errors and <br />Omissions insurance. <br /> <br />DES Director <br />commended by Gover- <br />nor on emergency <br />response <br /> <br />Co. liability ins. <br />discussed <br /> <br />Correspondence from the Riverside City Auditor requesting the appointment of Mrs. Duane <br />(Alice) Benson to the Riverside Planning and Zoning Commission from their extra-territorial <br />jurisdiction was referred to Mr. Wieland to determine if Mrs. Benson lives within the City of <br />Riverside's one-half mile jurisdiction. <br /> <br />Riverside City Aud. <br />submits letter req. <br />appt. of Mrs.Alice <br />Benson <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the Chairman and the Auditor be authorized <br />to sign the County Deeds for the sale of the following: 20 lots to the City of Riverside for $1.00 <br />per lot and to cancel the 5-year delinquent general taxes and specials in the amount of $68,050.09; <br />6 lots to the City of Casselton .for $1.00 per tot and to cancel the S-year delinquent general taxes <br />and specials in the amount of $3,134.80; and 2 lots to the City of Leonard for $1.00 per lot and to <br />cancel the S-year delinquent general taxes and specials in the amount of $303.01. On roll call vote, <br />the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Sale of lots to City <br />of Casselton, City <br />of Riverside and <br />Leonard <br /> <br />Mr. Eckert moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the check from the Office of the Attorney <br />General in the amount of $94.00 representing two-fifths of the gaming taxes generated within Cass <br />County for the quarter ended December 31, 1983, be placed in a separate fund for the Sheriff's <br />Department to be used for the enforcement of the State's gaming laws. On roll call vote, the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Atty. Gen.
