Fgo.IDance Permit for the West Fargo Fire Department on the date of October 7, 1983, at the Fire Dept. iRed River Valley Fairgrounds. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Resignation of Duane Hoehn, County Auditor The Chairman read a letter from Duane E. ithe position of Cass County Auditor effective ihe is retiring for health reasons but that he land would be willing to assist the Commission ! Hoehn submitting his resignation from October 31, 1983. Mr. Hoehn stated that plans to remain in the County at this time and Auditor's Office wherever possible. Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to accept with regrets the resignation iof Duane E. Hoehn as Cass County Auditor effective October 31, 1983; and to dispense lwith the usual letter of commendation but to plan for something more lasting and iappropriate to his retirement. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. ! Appt. of Ordelle : Upon the recommendation of Duane Hoehn, Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Wieland seconded Brua as County Ito appoint Mrs. Ordelle Brua of Fargo, who is presently First Deputy to the County Auditor, Auditor effectiveias the Auditor of Cass County effective November 1, 1983, until such time that the Office November 1st IOf the County Auditor is placed on the 1984 election ballot with a new term beginning !April 1, 1985, according to State law. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. ! 10th Street Traffic disc. near Cthse. las Ito i I Mr. Hoehn recommended that Ordelle Brua be paid the same salary he was receiving County Auditor, but Mr. Larson suggested making a decision next week on the salary be set by the Commission. I I REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OCTOBER 4, 1983 - Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that a letter be sent to Curt Langness, iFargo Traffic Engineer, requesting him to contact the State Highway Department asking Ifor a study to determine if it would be feasible to install a pedestrian-activated I signal light in the block between 2nd and 3rd Avenues on lOth Street South. On roll call I vote, the motion carried unanimously. I ND Co. County Commissioners. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. 'Cthse. Addn. 'disc. with Arch. Contract with Arch. for space update Vacancy disc. on Co. Planning CommA of Architect Richard Moorhead appeared at the Board's request to discuss fees and !costs of possibly constructing an addition to the south of the Courthouse. He suggested Ian extension of their past contract which provides for five phases of work. The first !phase would be the schematic design phase, and he suggested that his work be done on an [hourly basis with a maximum of $5,000.00. Mr. Wieland stated that an updating of the ! space requirements is important, and he feels we cannot proceed with any of the remodeling 'I'Phase on the present Courthouse until the Architect has completed some of the study and reports back to the Commission. ! Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to enter into a contract with (Architect Richard Moorhead to update the space requirements and to prepare the proposed I schematic design phase at a cost of $45.00 per hour with a limit of $5,000.00. ion roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. i Mr. Eckert stated that he contacted Dayton Byram of Cassel ton regarding a vacancy' Ion the Cass County Planning Commission, and Mr. Byram will be invited to attend the II next Planning Commission meeting as he would like to learn more about the committee before accepting the appointment. i I i I I I
