On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Resignation of <br />Duane Hoehn, <br />County Auditor <br /> <br />The Chairman read a letter from Duane E. <br />ithe position of Cass County Auditor effective <br />Ihe is retiring for health reasons but that he <br />land would be willing to assist the Commission <br />, <br />i <br /> <br />Hoehn submitting his resignation from <br />October 31, 1983. Mr. Hoehn stated that <br />plans to remain in the County at this time <br />and Auditor's Office wherever possible. <br /> <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to accept with regrets the resignation <br />iof Duane E. Hoehn as Cass County Auditor effective October 31, 1983; and to dispense <br />iwith the usual letter of commendation but to plan for something more lasting and <br />iappropriate to his retirement. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />! <br /> <br />Appt. of Ordelle : Upon the recommendation of Duane Hoehn, Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Wieland seconded <br />Brua as County ito appoint Mrs. Ordelle Brua of Fargo, who is presently First Deputy to the County Auditor, <br />Auditor effectiveias the Auditor of Cass County effective November 1, 1983, until such time that the Office <br />November 1st iof the County Auditor is placed on the 1984 election ballot with a new term beginning <br />IApril 1, 1985, according to State law. Motion carried. <br />i <br />! <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that a letter be sent to Curt Langness, <br />!Fargo Traffic Engineer, requesting him to contact the State Highway Department asking <br />"for a study to determine if it would be feasible to install a pedestrian-activated <br />signal light in the block between 2nd and 3rd Avenues on 10th Street South. On roll call <br />vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />I <br />ND Co. Planning <br />CommA <br /> <br />, Architect Richard Moorhead appeared at the Board's request to discuss fees and <br />I costs of possibly constructing an addition to the south of the Courthouse. He suggested <br />Ian extension of their past contract which provides for five phases of work. The first <br />iphase would be the schematic design phase, and he suggested that his work be done on an <br />ihourly basis with a maximum of $5,000.00. Mr. Wieland stated that an updating of the <br />I space requirements is important, and he feels we cannot proceed with any of the remodeling <br />iphase on the present Courthouse until the Architect has completed some of the study <br />land reports back to the Commission. <br />I <br />, Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to enter into a contract with <br />!Architect Richard Moorhead to update the space requirements and to prepare the proposed <br />!schematic design phase at a cost of $45.00 per hour with a limit of $5,000.00. <br />ion roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />i <br />I Mr. Eckert stated that he contacted Dayton Byram of Cassel ton regarding a vacancy. <br />Ion the Cass County Planning Commission, and Mr. Byram will be invited to attend the <br />jnext Planning Commission meeting as he would like to learn more about the committee <br />I before accepting the appointment. <br />
