On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to begin advertising that the County <br />will be in need of coroner services as of September 1, 1983. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />The Auditor read a letter from the North Dakota Public Employees Retirement System <br />stating that if the Cass County Commission will be considering paying a percentage of the <br />employees' retirement as a salary increase, they must declare that possibility in writing <br />before July 15th but will not be obligated by such a letter. Mrs. Stanton moved 'and <br />Mr. Wieland seconded that the County Auditor be authorized to write a letter to the <br />North Dakota Public Employees Reitrement System stating that the Cass County Commission <br />may possibly consider paying a percentage of the employees' retirement as a salary increase <br />at budget time. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />A letter was referred to Mrs. Stanton concerning vacancies on the Min-Dak Health <br />Systems Agency Board of Directors. <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to receive and file the North Dakota <br />Correctional Facility Report prepared by the Attorney General's Office on the <br />Cass County Juvenile Justice Center stating that it is in full compliance in all areas <br />and that the- facility is in very good condition. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />On motion by Mr. Larson and seconded-by Mr. Sondrall, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />JULY 12, 1983 <br /> <br />Chairman Eckert called the meeting to order and upon roll call, all members <br />were present. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting <br />be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />A representative of the Hegland Sign Company presented a sample for the directory <br />of offices in the Courthouse, one to be located at the front door at a cost of $420.00 <br />and one on the west side of the elevator on the 1st floor at a cost of $380.00. <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to purchase the two office directory signs <br />as stated above from the Hegland Sign Company in the amount of $800.00 installed. <br />On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Upon the request of Steve Grindberg, County Road Superintendent, Mr. Larson moved <br />and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the Chairman be authorized to sign the Construction <br />Engineering Services Agreement for the County Road 17 bridge north of Horace with the <br />Houston Engineering Company, the County's share of the engineering services being about <br />$8,000.00. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Grindberg stated that the traffic signs on County Road 22 and on County Road 81 <br />at Harwood do not meet the County's specifications, but the City of Harwood does not wish <br />to have them changed. Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to authorize the Chairman <br />and the Auditor to sign an agreement with the City of Harwood that the City of Harwood <br />will assume all responsibility and maintenance on the signs on County Road 22 and <br />County Road 81 at Harwood. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Grindberg stated that in order to eliminate water standing on the Juvenile Justice <br />Center parking lot, it would take a complete overlay. The Commission suggested paint- <br />striping the lot without an overlay, as they felt the cost would be excessive. <br /> <br />Attorneys Jon Arntson and Karen Klein appeared before the Board representing the <br />property owners in Holmen's Second Subdivision and Holmen's Third Subdivision s~uth of <br />West Fargo.
