The architects for the Courthouse Addition were present and Mr. Irv Holman gave a
:breakdown of the costs involved in the bid for the roofing project and the bell tower
restoration. Mr. Richard Moorhead reported on the application for funds and the listing
of the Courthouse in the National Register of Historic Places: He stated that if the
Commission wishes to pursue some of the funding from the State Historical Society for the
bell tower restoration, they would not recommend that the Commission award any contracts
until they can approve them also. This would delay the project, and the bids may hot be
honored past 30 days from the date of bid opening. An alternative to delaying the project
would be to. award the contract for thw eork proposed at this time and to apply for
State funds for a future project.
