He felt that perhaps the Veterans Service Office <br />could also be moved out of the Annex. <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Wieland seconded that any decision to be made on the hiring <br />of one person and acquiring space for the Community Survival Program be left to the <br />County Social Services Board. On roll call vote, the motion carried with four members <br />voting "Aye" and Mrs. Stanton opposing. <br /> <br />The Commission will meet at 8:00 A.M. next Tuesday to look at any available <br />County office space. <br /> <br />Committee reports were given. <br /> <br />On motion by Mr. Larson and seconded by Mr. Wieland, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />APRIL 26, 1983 <br /> <br />Chairman Eckert called the meeting to order and upon roll call, all members were <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting <br />be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that Mr. Wieland be authorized to have an <br />appraisal made of the Cass County Annex at a cost not to exceed $1,000.00. Mr. Larson <br />moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the Cass County Superintendent of Schools Office <br />be moved from the Cass County Annex to space on the 2nd floor of the Courthouse <br />contingent upon whether she needs a steel vault for storage of records; and that the <br />County Auditor be authorized to have a new door installed for access to the office space <br />from the hall. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />The Board discussed possible office space for the Veterans Service Office at the <br />Juvenile Justice Center building. <br /> <br />Upon the request of Marv Witt, Executive Secretary of the Red River Valley Fair <br />Association, Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded to grant a dance permit application <br />to the Red River Valley Fair Association for musical events to be held during fair week <br />on the dates of July 7th through 12th, 1983. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />The Board questioned Mr. Witt on the Red River Valley Fair Association's not voting <br />to provide financial support to the City of West Fargo for the bridge construction <br />project and 13th Avenue paving. <br /> <br />Sheriff Don Rudnick reported on the areas of non-compliance in the County Jail <br />as noted in a report received recently from the North Dakota Attorney General's Office <br />and what is being done to correct the situations. <br /> <br />Upon the recommendation of Sheriff Rudnick, Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Wieland seconded <br />that the Sheriff be authorized to charge the State of North Dakota $30.00 per day for <br />housing prisoners who are sentenced to the North Dakota State Penitentiary but are not <br />transported immediately. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Sheriff Rudnick reported that he received $750.00 from the sale of unclaimed <br />or seized property. Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Wieland seconded that the Sheriff be <br />authorized to use the proceeds of the sale to purchase equipment for his department <br />at his discretion.
