Fargo ND 58103 Re: Contract with Astar, Contract with EzGov Dear Commissioners: At an earlier meeting you approved two contracts with Astar to provide for a Web Tool and for the display and collection of property taxes. At the time we requested these contracts wc were anticipating to provide the same level of service to the taxpayers of the county with a lower cost. The contract for the display and collection of property to.xes replaced the service provided by EzGov. After working with the new service for a month we have run into problems that have forced us to reevaluate our position. The cost thr Astar is actually higher than the contract we had with EzGov, more staff time in the County Treas~rrer's Office and the Information Services Department is required, and most importantly, our customers who access the taxes on our web page prefer the former sewice. At this time Charlotte Sandvik has negotiated a new contract with EzGov, $10,000 per year. This contract represents a $2,000 decrease over the previous contract.
