The Planning <br />Commission will consider the recommendation of the Historic Preservation Commission at that time. <br /> <br />The Planning Cmnmission will also hold a public hearing on a zoning change on Lot C and the south Ya of the <br />vacated alley in Block 24, Tyler's Subdivision of Lots 10 thru 12 in Original Townsite Addition, the south 75 <br />feet Iess the south 40 feet of Lots 1 thru 3, Block 24 and Lot 9 and the east 25 feet of Lot 8 Original Townsite <br />Addition on Wednesday, September 11, 2002 at 9:00 a.m. in the City Commission Chambers, City Hall, Fargo, <br />ND. This request would change the zoning on these properties from MR-3, Multi family dwelling to NO, <br />Neighborhood Office. The use of these properties would remain commercial in nature; the change would bring <br />the propemes into conformance with the Land Development Code. <br /> <br />What is a Historic Overlay District? <br />A Historic Overlay District is intended to protect and enhance the resources that give buildings their historic and <br />architectural significance. It is an additional level of protection that can be applied to historic buildings through <br />ttlc Land Development Code, Vv~ndncvcr new construction or the rehabil0afion of an existing building is <br />planned in a Historic Overlay District, the property owner must participate in a design review process that is <br />overseen by the Historic Preservation Commission. The Historic Preservation Commission follows guidelines <br />outlined in tbe Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation (htlp://www2.cr.nps.gov/tps/standguide) <br />that help determine the appropriateness of new constracfion and other changes.
