Adm. <br />to write letter <br />req. mileage I <br />reimbursement foi <br />Shff. service ofl <br />juvenile papers I <br />I <br />! <br /> <br />Mr. Glenn Ellingsburg from the Cass County Sheriff's Department and Mr. Mark Hinnen, <br />District Court Administrator, appeared before the Board and suggested that the County <br />Commission write a letter to the State of North Dakota requesting mileage reimbursement <br />for serving of papers for Juvenile Court cases. The State now pays for the service <br />of papers, but no compensation is made to the counties for the mileage involved. <br />Mr. Ellingsburg stated that Cass County spent $5,000.00 for mileage for the service <br />of Juvenile Court papers for the fiscal year 1981-1982. The Commission asked <br />Mr. Ellingsburg and Mr. Hinnen to prepare a draft letter for the Board's review next week. <br /> <br />On motion by Mr. Larson and seconded by Mr. Eckert, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />AUGUST 10, 1982 <br /> <br />ii' Chairman Wold called the meeting to order and four members were present, <br />I,Mr. Hendrickson being absent. <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting <br />ibe approved as written. Motion carried. <br />I <br />, <br />i Discussion continued on the bids received July 27th for the purchase of County <br />,insurance. Last week the Board referred the matter to the States Attorney, Bob Hoy, <br />land he stated that he spoke with Bob Rust, the County's Insurance Advisor, and also <br />iwith Kip Erickson, Attorney for Warner and Company. It is the opinion of the <br />iStates Attorney that the recommendation of the Insurance Advisor to the Commission <br />land the Commission's awarding the bid to the Dawson-Watson Insurance Agency, Inc. <br />Iwas proper in the legal sense of the matter. <br /> <br />~ <br />; Mr. Erickson spoke on behalf of Warner and Company defending their position, <br />[and Mr. Rust also spoke stating that the specifications were clear and sufficient <br />ito put any potential bidders on notice of the County's wishes for insurance. <br />! <br />i Mr. Eckert and Mr. Larson suggested placing the,insnrance matter on the agenda <br />jagain next week to allow themselves more time to read over the specifications. <br />i <br />Agree. signed ' Upon the recommendation of Torn Jensen, County Social Services Director, Mr. Larson <br />wi th ND Child i moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the Chai.rman be authorized to sign the cooperative <br />Support Enforce. On rollcall vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />! <br />Letter to Chief' Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the Chairman be authorized to sign <br />Justice request- I the letter to the Honorable Ralph Erickstad, Chief Justice of the North Dakota <br />ing Shff. mileag~ S~preme Court, requesting reimbursement for the Cass County Sheriff's Department <br />reimbursement im~leage costs expended on the service of juvenile papers. On roll call vote, the motion <br />I carried unanimously. <br />i <br />Assessments to be: Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to approve the resolution directing the <br />levied on I assessments to be levied on the affected properties for the Forest River paving project <br />'Forest River projl.in Stanley Township. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />I <br />I <br />: Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the County Auditor be authorized <br />I to make final payment in the amount of $5,000.00 to Rick Electric, Inc. for completion <br />IOf the electrical contract on the Courthouse Addition.
