Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Eckert <br />seconded that the Chairman sign the resolution authorizing the proper Cass County <br />officials to execute improvement warrants to pay for the cost of improvements at the <br />Forest River and Chrisan-Glenn Subdivisions. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that Vouchers No. 25,755 through <br />No. 26,660 and Revenue Sharing Vouchers No. 314 and No. 315 be approved and ordered <br />paid. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />On motion by Mr. Larson and seconded by Mr. Eckert, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />JULY 13, 19 8 2 <br /> <br />Chairman Wold called a special meeting to order at 11:00 A.M. with all five <br />Commissioners being present. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the County place a freeze <br />on hiring any additional -employees effective immediately and that if a present employee <br />terminates employment with the County, no one shall be hired for the position without <br />prior approval of the Board of County Commissioners. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />On motion by Mr. Larson and seconded by Mrs. Stanton, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />JULY 20, 1982 <br /> <br />Chairman Wold called the meeting to order and upon roll call, all members were present. <br /> <br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the minutes of the previous <br />meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />The Board received a transcript of the Commission meeting last week and also <br />listened to the recording made by the GYYR Court Reporting equipment which was <br />demonstrated by Torn's Office Machines of Wahpeton. Mr. Larson stated that he discussed <br />the operation of this equipment with the County Court Judge in Clay County, Minnesota, <br />and they are very satisfied with the procedure. Chairman Wold suggested delaying <br />any action on the purchase of these machines, and she suggested that the Commissioners <br />and County Court Judge Donald Cooke set up a meeting with the Clay County Judge. <br /> <br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the Chairman and the Auditor <br />be authorized to sign the Construction Engineering Agreement between Cass County, <br />the State of North Dakota and the Houston Engineering Company for the bridge project <br />on County Road 6. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Steve Grindberg, County Road Superintendent, reported that a thunderstorm <br />last Friday evening did extensive damage to the County Shop at Davenport and the <br />insurance adjuster will be there today. <br /> <br />Mr. Grindberg reported on a meeting held in Valley City with the State Highway <br />Department officials. He was informed that there may not be any Federal Aid money <br />next year and there is no money for off-system roads at the present time. He stated <br />that there are funds in the bridge replacement program, and he has the plans prepared <br />for bridge replacement on County Road 14 south and west of Horace. <br /> <br />Mr. Grindberg reported on a dangerous railroad crossing at Ayr, North Dakota, <br />and he felt there .would be a possibility of getting money on a 90% Federal and 10% <br />County matching basis from the Safety Fund. <br /> <br />! <br />I <br />, <br />I Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to renew the present union contract <br />i for the County Sheriff's Department for a period of six months ending December 31, 1982. <br />Ion roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />
