Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the Chairman and the Auditor i be authorized to sign the Construction Engineering Agreement between Cass County, i the State of North Dakota and the Houston Engineering Company for the bridge project t on County Road 6. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Damage to Co. I Steve Grindberg, County Road Superintendent, reported that a thunderstorm Shop at Davenportl last Friday evening did extensive damage to the County Shop at Davenport and the I insurance adj uster will be there today. Union :contract renewed Clerk of Court County Court Register of Deeds Sheriff $ 4,056.50 $23,314.22 $ 8,666.50 $ 7,189.81 Mr. John Arntson and Mrs. Katherine Sasseville appeared before the Board regarding the Forest River paving project in Stanley Township. Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Eckert seconded that the Chairman sign the resolution authorizing the proper Cass County officials to execute improvement warrants to pay for the cost of improvements at the Forest River and Chris an-Glenn Subdivisions. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that Vouchers No. 25,755 through iNo. 26,660 and Revenue Sharing Vouchers No. 314 and No. 315 be approved and ordered !paid. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. I I On motion by Mr. Larson and seconded by Mr. Eckert, the meeting was adjourned. i SPECIAL MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS JULY 13, 1982 Chairman Wold called a special meeting to order at 11:00 A.M. with all five I Commissioners being present. I Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the County place a freeze ;on hiring any additional -employees effective immediately and that if a present employee I terminates employment with the County, no one shall be hired for the position without jprior approval of the Board of County Commissioners. On roll call vote, the motion : carried unanimously. On motion by Mr. Larson and seconded by Mrs. Stanton, the meeting was adjourned. REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS JULY 20, 1982 Chairman Wold called the meeting to order and upon roll call, all members were present. I Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the minutes of the previous I meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. I I I The Board received a transcript of the Commission meeting last week and also i listened to the recording made by the GYYR Court Reporting equipment which was I demonstrated by Torn's Office Machines of Wahpeton. Mr. Larson s,tated that he discussed i the operation of this equipment with the County Court Judge in Clay County, Minnesota, ! and they are very satisfied with the procedure. Chairman Wold suggested delaying any action on the purchase of these machines, and she suggested that the Commissioners and County Court Judge Donald Cooke set up a meeting with the Clay County Judge. Mr. Grindberg reported on a meeting held in Valley City with the State Highway Department officials. He was informed that there may not be any Federal Aid money next year and there is no money for off-system roads at the present time. He stated that there are funds in the bridge replacement program, and he has the plans prepared for bridge replacement on County Road 14 south and west of Horace. Mr. Grindberg reported on a dangerous railroad crossing at Ayr, North Dakota, and he felt there .would be a possibility of getting money on a 90% Federal and 10% County matching basis from the Safety Fund.
