<br />Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to issue a site authorization permit
<br />expiring June 30, 1983 to the Dokken-Schroeder Post, Erie American Legion, to hold
<br />games of chance. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously.
<br />
<br />The County Auditor read a letter from the North Dakota State Highway Department
<br />informing the commission of a meeting to be held in Valley City concerning Cass County's
<br />ability to construct and maintain their existing road systems.
<br />
<br />Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded to renew the three public defender
<br />contracts which were received by the County Auditor for a period of one year.
<br />On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously.
<br />
<br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the terms of office for the
<br />Human Services Board members are to be set as follows: Alvin Johnson and Maura Jones
<br />i each to have a two-year term, 'expiring December 31, 1983. Roger Schwinghammer,
<br />Patrick Curran and Patricia Wold each to have a one-year term expiring December 31, 1982.
<br />On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. .

<br />The date set to make appointments for terms to expire for the Cass County
<br />Social Service Board is July 20, 1982.
<br />
<br />A recount of the primary election ballots for the Democratic party of District 22
<br />will take place July 12, 1982, in the Cass County Auditor's Office. Mrs. Stanton moved
<br />and Mr. Eckert seconded to appoint Mr. Ray Larson, Cass County Commissioner,
<br />Mr. Larry Stern, Assistant States Attorney, and Mrs. Lyla Milke, Deputy Clerk of Court,
<br />to serve on the County Recount Board. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously.
<br />
<br />Mr. Dave Darmody from Tom's Office Machines of Wahpeton gave a demonstration of the
<br />Gyyr court recorder. After discussion, it was agreed upon that during next week's meeting
<br />this recorder be used to record part of the meeting and a transcript be made from the tape
<br />to see if it is efficient enough for Cass County's use.
<br />
<br />On motion by Mr. Hendrickson and seconded by Mr. Larson, the meeting was adjourned.

<br />Chairman Wold called the meeting to order and upon roll call, all members were present.
<br />
<br />Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the minutes of the previous
<br />meeting be approved as written. Motion carried.
<br />
<br />Upon the recommendation of Steve Grindberg, County Road Superintendent, Mrs. Stanton
<br />moved and Mr. Larson seconded to grant utility permits to Cass County Electric to bury
<br />cable on County Road 7 in the SE~ of Section 13, Eldred Township, and on County Road 22
<br />in Sections 3-5, Raymond Township. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously.
<br />
<br />Mr. Jeff Volk from the Moore Engineering Company and Mr. Richard Thompson,
<br />Mayor of the City of Harwood, appeared before the Board to request the County to assist
<br />in any way they can on a proposed 2" layer of asphalt plus paint striping on the shoulder
<br />of Cass County Road 22 within the Harwood city limits, and designate it as a walkway
<br />for children going to the Harwood School. Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Eckert seconded
<br />that the County Road Department furnish the labor and the equipment for the above
<br />project, the City of Harwood to pay for the cost of the asphalt. On roll call vote,
<br />the motion carried unanimously.
<br />
<br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to receive and file the Indemnity Bond
<br />on Lost Instrument for Rick Hendrickson, and authorize the County Auditor to issue a
<br />duplicate check. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously.

<br />Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the County Auditor be authorized
<br />to pay the following estimates to the contractors and the Architects on the Courthouse
<br />Addition: On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously.

<br />Steffen's Office Equipment $1,326.00
<br />
<br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the Chairman be authorized to sign
<br />the contract prepared by Sheriff Don Rudnick for boarding out-of-county juveniles
<br />at the Cass County Juvenile Detention Center at the rate of $20.00 per juvenile per day.
