Mr. Larson moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded to appoint Vern Kepler and Joel Nikle, residents of Forest River Subdivision in Stanley Township, and Clarence Miller, Cass County Director of Tax Equalization, to the Forest River Special Assessment Commission. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to grant a Site Authorization Permit to the Dakotas Chapter--Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to hold games of chance at the Watering Hole Bar in Wild Rice for the period of July 1, 1982 through June 30, 1983. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mr. Larson seconded to grant the application for a raffle permit for the American Lutheran Church Women of the Hickson Lutheran Church to hold a raffle on the date of October 30, 1982, at the Hickson Lutheran Church. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Mr. Hendrickson received a telephone call regarding the condition of the cemet.ery in north Fargo near Trollwood Park, and the States Attorney will do some investigating to see whose responsibility it is for the care and maintenance. Bids were opened at 10:00 A.M. for cleaning services at the Cass County Courthouse and the Cass County Annex. The following bids were received: Northland Services Hall and Sons Janitorial A-l Marsh's Janitorial Services ServiceMaster of Fargo-Moorhead M & W Janitor Service, Inc. Northern Security & Janitorial Service Halmrast Services Company Gem Cleaning Services Per Month $2,274.00 $1,750.00 $3,200.00 $2,238.05 $2,040.00 $2,400.00 $2,230.00 $2,050.00 Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded to refer the above bids to the County Auditor and the Building Maintenance Supervisor for evaluation and recommendation next week. On roll'call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Mr. Gary Phillips, Executive Secretary of Red River Land, appeared before the Board to request the County to increase their contribution from $1,000 to $1,500 for Red River Land. The Board commended them for their tourism advertising, and their request will be considered at budget time. Committee reports were given. On motion by Mr. Larson and seconded by Mr. Hendrickson, the meeting was adjourned. REGULAR MEETING OF THE CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS JUNE 29, 1982: Cha:i:rman Wold taIled the meeting to order and four members were presen-e-;-' Mr:'-Hertdrickso~ being absent. Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. The Board discussed the bids received la&week for janitorial services at the Courthouse and the Annex. The matter was delayed one week for the Auditor and Building Superintendent to check on references that were submitted in the bids. Mr. Phil Matthews was present and also Walter Ness, County Extension Agent, regarding renewal of the County's lease for the Extension Offices in Mr. Matthew's building across the street to the south of the Courthouse. Mr. Larson favored purchasing the property rather than leasing it. However, the building has four apartments and two other offices besides the Extension Office, and Mrs. Stanton questioned whether the County could rent out space if they were to purchase the building. Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded to continue the lease for Extension Office space with Mr. Phil Matthews for 90 days under the present conditions. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. Mr. Larson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the following monthly reports for May be received and filed: Motion carried. Rush River Water Resource District North Cass Water Resource District Maple River Water Resource District Southeast Cass Water Resource District Cass County Veterans Service Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Larson seconded that the County Road Superintendent be authorized to purchase a conveyor for County gravel operations at a cost of $8,100.00.
