Commission Minutes-August 12, 2002 2480

Kristal Bennett, Human Resources Manager of Tecton Products, was present and said
the company has been struggling to find employees who can handle blueprint reading.
She said Tecton is willing to pay a finders fee for module training through the Skills
Development project.

Mr. Wieland said a decision is needed as te whether FCCEDC will be the pass-through for
funding the Skills Development project; otherwise, he questioned who would receive the
work force funds. Mr. Walters mentioned a website called careerlinkaorth.com designed
to recruit people back to the region who have moved to other states for employment. He said currently their organization holds their budget process
in September.

RecordedNDRIN/Document Preservation
County Recorder Deanna Kensrud was present. She said the largest increase in her
budget from last year is due to salaw and benefit raises as well as postage increases.
She said her budget includes $271,357 more in revenue than expenditures.

Mr. Montplaisir said both the Document Preservation and NDRIN funds are doing well for
the county.

RECESS
MOTION, passed
With no further budgets to review today, Mrs. Schneider moved and Mr.
Wagner seconded to recess the meeting at 12:05 PM and reconvene at
8:30 AM tomorrow, August 13, 2002.

Alq-EST:

APPROVED:

Cass County, North Dakota

Alon Wieland, Chairman
Cass County Board of Commissioners
