The County Auditor stated that the North Dakota Century Code prohibits
voting in a place where alcoholic beverages are sold. Mr. Pietsch stated that the township
checked with three of the school board members and they were not aware of any offer
to use the school for voting. The Board instructed the County Auditor to contact
Lyle Schultz, President of the Chaffee School Board, to determine whether the election
could be held in the Chaffee School.

Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the Chairman be authorized
to sign the Union Contract with the Sheriff's Department for the year 1980-1981.
On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously.

Mr. Satrom moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that a gambling permit be granted to
St. Benedict Church in Wild Rice for November 7, 1980. Motion carried.

The County Road Superintendent stated that he contacted Mr. Duane Bentz of the
State Highway Department regarding the public hearing held on the 32nd Avenue South project.
Mrs. Stanton read a letter she received from the State Highway Department stating that
all official documents from the hearing will be corrected to read that the cost of the
project will be the responsibility of the city and the township instead of the County,
since the portion of the road outside the city limits is not on the County Road System.

Regarding the proposed bridge work on County Road 22 west of Harwood~ Mr. Grindberg
stated that he has received several calls showing an interest in providing the County
with the necessary engineering services for the project. The Board discussed hiring
a consulting engineer on a yearly basis. Mr. Hendrickson moved that the matter be delayed
until it can be determined how much the County has paid in the past for engineering services.
The motion failed for lack of a second since Mr. Grindberg stated that an engineer must be
selected soon to begin plans on the County Road 22 project.

i
iWalburg Twp.
ivoting place
!disc.--illegal
ito vote in a bar

Union Contract
signed with
Shff. Mr. Rudnick stated that at present he is paying
overtime to get the typing done. Mr. Hendrickson asked the Sheriff to figure out how much
overtime is being paid for doing that job, as he does not feel this is the time to add
any extra help in any department.

i .
lState Chlld
iSupport Enforce.
:to pay ~ of Shff.
jdeputy's salary

jSheriff req.
,permission to
:hire secretary
'to do typing for
the deputy serv-
'ing papers for
:Child Support

:< .)i~\~

I
