<br />Commission Minutes--August 5, 2002 2475 <br /> <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Schneider moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to authorize the <br />chairman to sign a contract with the Lake Agassiz Regional Development <br />Corporation to administer Cass County's greenway acquisition program, <br />subject to the State's Attorney's review and concurrence. On roll call <br />vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Rustad brought up other projects affected by bank erosion and said he has been in <br />contact with FEMA about the possibility of purchasing these. He mentioned properties in <br />Round Hili Subdivision and two north of the City of West Fargo. Mr. Berndt said two homes <br />In the floodplain north of West Fargo are not in the contiguous greenway but he believes <br />they should be considered for buy-outs. Mr. Wagner said he wouid like to know all of the <br />remaining priority projects before any rnore purchases are made, and Mr. Wieland was in <br />agreement. Mr. Berndt will bring detailed information to the board at a future meeting. <br /> <br />15. NORTH DAKOTA ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES, Software installation <br />Mike Montplaisir, County Auditor, presented a proposal from the North Dakota Association <br />of Counties (NDACo) for installation of Microsoft Prograrn updates, which were approved by <br />the board at the July 1, 2002, meeting when the technology report from NDACo was <br />accepted. Joe Kramer was present from NDACo and said the work would likely be done <br />after business hours and on weekends to accommodate the employee users. He said no <br />overtime will be assessed, and they will apply the same rate they charge all counties for <br />technoiogy work. Mr. Montplaisir said the total cost for the software installation is expected <br />to be $24,000.00, and the cost for memory upgrades will be about $4,000.00. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner asked where the money wouid come from to pay for the software installation, <br />and the response from Mr. Montplaisir was that the cost would be charged to the budget of <br />each department that receives the upgrade. Budget adjustments will be needed for some <br />departments and some will absorb the amount in their current budget. Mrs. Schneider <br />asked if this would be the last year for upgrades if the county has a replacement schedule of <br />every three years, and Mr. Kramer said that would be correct. He said a typical <br />replacement schedule is every 3-4 years. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Schneider moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to approve the <br />proposal from the North Dakota Association of Counties to Install <br />updates to the Microsoft and Word Perfect programs. On roll call vote, <br />the motion carried unanimously, <br /> <br />16. VOUCHERS, Approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Sorum moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to approve Voucher <br />No. 166,584 through No. 167,044. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />17. MEETING UPDATES; CASS/CLAY COMMISSIONERS JOINT MEETING; SUBDIVISION <br />REVIEW COMMITTEE; MIDA BONDS; BUDGET MEETINGS, Committee reports <br />Cornmissioners reported on meetings they have attended in the past two weeks. <br />
