Mr. Grindberg stated <br />that the County follows the load limitations of the State Highway Department in order to <br />! continue receiving Federal Aid on County Roads. He stated that the State load limits <br />should be raised soon. Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mr. Satrom seconded that the request <br />be denied. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Satrom moved and Mrs. Wold seconded that the Chairman be authorized to sign <br />the agreement with Mr. Don Garnas for drainage by Page. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Satrom moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that a note of thanks be written <br />to Miss Audrey Stewart of Fargo who photographed the present Cass County Courthouse <br />and presented the photo to the Board along with County Judge Donald Cooke. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mrs. Wold moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the Chairman be authorized to sign <br />the Grant Award and Acceptance from the North Dakota Law Enforcement Council for the <br />Summer Intern Program for the States Attorneys Office. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Regarding last weeks discussion with the Sheriff's Department on Workman's Compensation <br />coverage at special functions, the States Attorney reported that she has written letters <br />to the insurance company who handles the Sheriff's liability and also to the Dawson <br />Insurance Agency informing them of the proposed change whereby a deputy would be paid <br />directly through the County and asking if it would affect the premiums or the County's <br />liability coverage. <br /> <br />Upon the request of Tom Jensen, County Social Services Director, Mrs. Wold moved <br />and Mr. Sondrall seconded that out of state travel be granted for two foster parents <br />attending the national conference in Kansas City. On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mrs. Wold moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the County Social Services Office <br />be granted spending authority for the Nokomis Day Care Center to the end of the current <br />fiscal year. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Satrom moved and Mrs. Wold seconded that the Chairman be authorized to sign <br />the Satisfaction and Discharge of Trust Mortgage for property in the City of LaMoure, <br />North Dakota. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Satrom moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the Chairman be authorized to sign <br />the utility permit with the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company to bury a cable under <br />County Road 25 in Hickson. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Co. Planner to <br />be requested to <br />discuss possib. <br />of bridge near <br />Harwood in future <br />Request for gates: Mr. Sondrall and Mr. Hendrickson reported on the Public Service Commission hearing <br />on CIl RR cross. i which they attended at Mapleton pertaining to a request for gates on County Road II <br />at Mapleton , at the railroad crossing in addition to the existing flashing light signals, and the <br />i County will be expected to pay 10% of the cost of installation. <br /> <br />Mr. Sondrall moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that Bernie Reynolds, County Planner, , <br />be requested to contact the Harwood Township Zoning Board notifying them of the possibility <br />that the County may in the future construct a bridge across the Red River east of Harwood <br />in conjunction with Clay County. On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br />
