Cass County for delinquent taxes be appraised at the amount shown on the tax sale list, which is the total amount of taxes owing. Delegates appt. i The Auditor reported that the delegates appointed from Cass County to attend the North to St. Fair Associpakota State Fair Association Annual Meeting are J. Palmer Satrom representing the County Annual Meeting. ICommission, Roy Faught representing the Red River Valley Fair Association, and Rudy Radke !representing the County Extension Office. I Resignation of! A letter was received from Michael McGuire submitting his resignation as Cass County County Judge Mc- 'Judge effective October 31, 1979, due to his appointment as District Judge of the East Centra: Guire effective District. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the resignation of Judge October 31, 1979. McGuire as County Judge be accepted effective October 31, 1979. The motion carried on a roll call vote with all members present voting "Aye". City of Argus- ville--permit to use dirt off of old Hwy 81 & use old Hwy 81 as an E Bdry for dike. C-6--R. Supt. author. to apply for Fed. Aid to pave road. Drop Structure-- in Stanley Twp contract with Sherman, Inc. Culvert under C2 near Hunter Cem- etery to be in- stalled. Culvert West of Chaffee on C 6-- position to re- main as is. Social Services Director--disc. on additional office space. City of Fargo-- disc.on prog.for funds for fuel & utilities. Social Services 'Director--auth. out of state travel. District Court-- disc. with judge re: additional office space. Upon motion by Mr. Hendrickson and second by Mrs. Stanton, the meeting was adjourned. ADJOURNED MEETING OF CASS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OCTOBER 17, 1979 I i lent I [ Ibe I i I Chairman Satrom called the meeting to order and upon roll call, three members were pres- with Mrs. Stanton and Mrs. Wold arriving later. Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting approved as written. Motion carried. At this time Mrs. Stanton and Mrs. Wold were present. .. Mr. Marshall Moore of Moore Engineering appeared before the Board on behalf of the City iof Argusville to request a permit from the County to use dirt from the entrance road off of !old Highway 81 to build a ring dike around Argusville; and to use old Highway 81 as an east Iboundary for this dike. Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that such a permit Ibe issued to the City of Argusville. The motion carried on a roll call vote with all members voting "Aye". I Upon the request of Steve Grindberg, County Road Superintendent, Mrs. Wold moved and Mrs iStanton seconded that Mr. Grindberg be authorized to apply for Federal Aid to pave County IRoad 6 from Intersta,te 29 to County Road 17. The motion carried on a roll call vote with all Imembers voting "Aye"'. I i Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Wold seconded that the contract with Sherman, Inc. for a !drop structure in Section 6 of Stanley Township which will be 100% reimbursed by Federal !Flood Disaster be approved. I i i A letter was received from Mr. Harry Grage of Hunter regarding installin~' a culvert lunder County Road 2 near the Hunter Cemetery. Upon discussion, Mr. Hendrickson moved and iMr. Sondrall seconded that this culvert be installed diagonally under County Road 2. The Imotion carried on a roll call vote with all members voting "Aye". Mr. Hendrickson stated that he has been contacted several times by Mr. Watts regarding [the repositioning of a culvert west of Chaffee on County Road 6 which was installed some time jago. Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the position of this culvert re- Imain as it is. The motion carried on a roll call vote with all members voting "Aye". I i Mr. Thomas Jensen, Social Services Director, appeared before the Board to discuss the Ineed of additional office space. Mr. Jensen suggested adding one or two floors to the presen' lannex building with the possibility of the Southeast Mental Health and Retardation Center ieventually being in the same facility. I : Mr. Jensen also discussed programs set up through the City of Fargo for providing funds Ifor fuel and utilities for needy families in the Community. Mrs. Wold moved and Mrs. Stanton Ilseconded that a letter be sent to the City requesting information on these programs. The ,motion carried on a roll call vote with all members voting "Aye". I ! Rev. Emery Roy, representing the Board of Social Services, appeared before the Board to !request permission for out of state travel. Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded !that Mr. Tom Jensen be authorized to attend a Management Training Seminar for Public Welf~re iAdministration for four weeks beginning November 4, 1979 for one week a month at various llocations. The motion carried on a roll call vote with Mr. Satrom and Mrs. Stanton opposing. I Judge Norman Backes appeared before the Board to discuss needed office space for Distric' Court. Judge Backes suggested that the States Attorney's Office be moved to temporary 'f quarters out of the Courthouse and also move the Director of Tax Equalization from the third ;floor into the present offices of the States Attorney which would leave the third floor for ithe District Court. Upon discussion, Mrs. Stanton moved and Mrs. Wold seconded that a com- Imittee be set up of the department heads most interested in the space problem.
