Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Sondrall seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. Plat of Palmer's Subd. signed. Mrs. Wold moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the Chairman be authorized to sign the Plat of Palmer's Subdivision in the SE~ of Section 14, Reed Township, which was reviewed by Ithe County Planning Commission on May 9, 1979. The motion carried on a roll call vote with i all members present voting :,',Aye". Discussion was held on hiring a professional to prepare a brochure stating the facts on Iwhy an addition to the Courthouse is needed. The Auditor presented an architectural drawing ,of the proposed addition and existing Courthouse which he stated could be printed on the : cover of the brochure. Mr. Hendrickson was present at this time and stated that he would ilook into the cost of preparing a brochure of this type. i Discussion was also held on contacting the local and rural newspapers on the cost of an lad which would state the facts on why an addition to the Courthouse is needed. Mrs. Stanton !suggested that each newspaper be contacted today and reports be given at the Wednesday : meeting. The use of public service on radio and television was also discussed. Thursday, October 125, 1979, was tentatively set for one or more of the Board members to be guests on a KFGO : talk show. Upon the request of Mr. Sondrall, Mr. Alton Johnson, Superintendent of Buildings and --Bldgs. & Grnds. ! Grounds , reported to the Board that the fire extinguishers presently in the Courthouse have Supt. auth. ~o Ibeen outlawed. He stated that it will be necessary to replace nine fire extinguishers at a pu~chase ext~n- i ~o~t of $29.00 eae,h. He 'also stated that th~ controls on several of the lavatories in the gu~shers and IJa~l need to be replaced and that he would l~ke to purchase six of these controls at $25.00 lavatory controlsfeach. Mr. Sondrall moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that Mr. Johnson be allowed to pur- iChase these items. The motion carried on a roll call vote with all members voting "Aye". Bridge in Highland Upon the recommendation of Mr. Steve Grindberg, County Road Superintendent, Mrs. Stanton Twp.--contract [moved and Mrs. Wold seconded that the Chairman be authorized to sign the contract with Indus- signed with Ind. Iltrial Builders, Inc. in the amount of $221,926.10 for bridge replacement in Highland Township Builders,Inc. for which will be 100% reimbursed by Federal Flood Disaster. Mr. Grindber Enderlin. jstated that he would look into this matter.
