<br />Report on prop- i Architect Richard Moorhead reported on the plans for the proposed addition to the Cass
<br />osed addition to !County Courthouse. He stated that the total project budget is $2,134,000.00. Discussion

<br />,the fall of 1980 due to the cost of inflation and also due to the need for courtroom and

<br />Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Stanton seconded that the Board set the 1st Tuesday in
<br />iNovember, 1979, as a Special Election date for the purpose of voting on whether to enact a
<br />: 3-mill levy for the purpose of building an addition to the Cass County Courthouse; the levy
<br />ito run until the addition is paid for, not to exceed six years. The motion carried on a roll'
<br />,call vote with four members voting "Aye" and Mr. Sondrall opposing.

<br />Chairman Satrom called the meeting to order and upon roll call, all members were present.
<br />
<br />Mrs. Stanton moved and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the minutes of the previous meeting
<br />be approved as written. Motion carried.
<br />
<br />Discussion was held with Steve Grindberg, County Road Superintendent, on the need to re-
<br />place a 60 foot bridge in Sections 20 and 21 of Gill Township. Mr. Grindberg stated that
<br />the bridge needed to be replaced due to old age.
<br />
<br />Discussion was also held on a bridge in the northwest corner of Section 7, Rochester
<br />Township, which is on the Barnes-Cass County line. Mr. Grindberg stated that this bridge is
<br />listed on the State Bridge Inventory as Cass County's, even though it has been the respons-
<br />ibility of Barnes County in the past. Mr. Grindberg suggested that he contact the Barnes
<br />County Road Superintendent to discuss this matter and report to the Board at a later date.
<br />
<br />Mr. Grindberg also discussed several other road projects at this time.
<br />
<br />Chairman Satrom introduced Mr. Bernard Reynolds as the new County Planner. Mr. Reynolds
<br />outlined several of his responsibilities as County Planner. He also requested that the Board
<br />consider reimbursing him for his moving expenses from Salt Lake City, Utah, to Fargo, North
<br />Dakota. Mr. Hendrickson moved and Mrs. Wold seconded that the matter be delayed until next
<br />Wednesday. The motion carried on a roll call vote with all members present voting "Aye".
<br />
<br />A letter was received from Mrs. William L. Guy submitting her resignation as a member of
<br />the Board of Directors of the Southeast Mental Health and Retardation Center. Mrs. Wold moved
<br />and Mr. Hendrickson seconded that the letter of resignation from Mrs. William L. Guy be re-'
<br />ceived and filed. The motion carried on a roll call vote with all members present voting
<br />"Aye".
<br />
<br />Camille Kulka of the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center appeared before the Board to request
<br />County support for a Grant Application to the North Dakota Law Enforcement Council for their
<br />Public Education Program. Mrs. Stanton moved and Mrs. Wold seconded that the Chairman be
<br />authorized to sign the Grant Application. The motion carried on a roll call vote with all
<br />members present voting "Aye".
