Amen/a Township 15189 29th St SE Amenia, ND 58004 Frank Klein, Director of Equalization P O Box 2806 Fargo, ND 58108 April 10, 2002 Dear Mr. Klein; I received a copy of the letter that you received fi:om Orville Iwen today. I am wondering about this because I notified Orville about our intentions of dealing with this matter at our tax equalization meeting (April 8, 2002) within two days of receiving the letter from Mr Montplaisir. He stated that he did not have to come to the meeting that we could just make a decision on the taxes. I talked to him twice after that about coming to the meeting and even offered to come and pick him up because I know that he doesn't drive after dark. He stated again that he did not have to come to the meeting that the board could make their decision without him there. Our tax equalization meeting was held on April 8th. At that meeting it was decided to deny this application because the land is valued about the same as land of similar quality in the near vicinity. We do realize that there are water problems on this land that could be corrected with some more ditching. Since ditching was done on this land last fall, we feel we would like to wait and see if this alleviates some of the problems. I am also wondering why the paperwork that Orville gave to the county did not get sent on to the townships so that the townships had all the information provided by Orville to make these decisions.
