<br />Weed Control Progress Report March 6, 2018 <br /> <br />Period from Feb 12 to March 6, 2018 submitted by Stan Wolf <br /> <br />New Business: <br /> <br />Roads Rights-of-Way bid opening: Due to the storm on Monday March 5, the <br />bid opening was postponed to Thursday, March 8 at 9 am. At present four <br />contractors have expressed interest. The selection committee will review the <br />bids and provide to the board their recommendations for awarding noxious weed <br />spray contracts. <br /> <br />Action required: Award spray contracts <br /> <br />Weed/Vector vehicle Storage Building: The proposed extension of the <br />Weed/Vector vehicle building has been put off for this year. Commissioner <br />Pederson has given the go ahead if we wish to install the proposed second <br />overhead door on the south end of the building. This additional door will allow for <br />direct access of both vehicles to exit and enter the building. Gene Gartner, <br />County Maintenance, will be soliciting bids for the work. Budgeted amount <br />$8000.00. <br /> <br />Proposed motion: Approve the installation of an overhead door on Weed/Vector <br />vehicle building. <br /> <br />Drone update: At the last board meeting the question was asked if the office <br />Surface computer could be used as the display for the drone controller. The <br />office Surface computer is not compatible with the drone software. IT prefers to <br />utilize an iPad. The expected costs of the drone and accompanying equipment <br />are as follows: <br /> <br /> Phantom 4 Plus drone $2000 <br /> iPad $ 500 <br /> 3 Battery charging hub $ 40 <br /> Car charger $ 60 <br /> Sunshade $ 20 <br /> Propellers $ 20 <br /> <br /> Total $2640 <br /> <br />Proposed motion: Move to approve purchase of drone and assorted equipment <br />
