<br />CASS COUNTY <br />COMMISSION POLICY MANUAL <br /> <br />38.05 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: AMENDED ORDINANCE #1997-3 (CASS COUNTY PARK CAMPSITES) <br /> <br />ADOPTED DATE: <br /> <br />,2005 <br /> <br />PAGE 1 OF 3 <br /> <br />CASS COUNTY GOVERNMENT <br />AMENDED ORDINANCE #1997-3 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE REGULATING AND RESTRICTING THE USE OF CASS COUNTY <br />PARK CAMPSITES <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the County of Cass by and through the Cass County Board operates <br />and maintains the Cass County Park at Brewer Lake for the benefit of the citizens of Cass <br />County and others; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the use of Cass County park campsites at Brewer Lake has increased <br />from year to year and the demand for campsite services is greater than the available <br />supply; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there have been increasing occurrences of people parking vehicles, <br />campers and other camping equipment at Brewer Lake campsites and leaving that <br />equipment unattended for extended periods of time; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, County of Cass, by and through the Cass County Park Board, does not <br />charge any fee for has incurred certain expenses in installing and continuing to make <br />available the use of electricity and water at the campsites; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there are effiy a limited number of campsites which provide electricity <br />and water services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, unattended vehicles, campers or other camping equipment at the Cass <br />County Park Campground is not an effective and efficient use of limited services and <br />becomes a hazard to other campers and a target for criminal activity; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, <br />Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of the County of Cass that an ordinance <br />regulating the use of campsites at any Cass County park is hereby enacted as follows: <br /> <br />1. Campsites located at any Cass County Park under the direct operation and <br />supervision of the Cass County Park Board will be available to any persons and their <br />camping equipment on a first come first serve basis for a period of time not to exceed <br />ten (10) consecutive days during 'I/hich time the campsite must be occupied by the <br />person or persons who O'lm, possess, or otherwise have control of the camping <br />equipment. <br />
