Commission Minutes--August 14, 2001 2333

He said the position is funded through July 2002. Mr. Wagner said grant funds were received
this year and the county did not contribute any funds toward this position.

Veterans Service
Veterans Service Officer Jim Brent was present. He said his budget has not changed
significantly compared to last year. He budgeted to replace office furniture for one of his staff.

Mr. Montplaisir said the scanner purchased for Veterans Service is not working properly. He and
Commissioner Wagner talked to Information Services Director Bob Holmbeck about the problem
last week. Mr. Holmbeck said the scanner does not scan clearly and when the resolution was
raised, the resulting file was too large. Mr. Montplaisir had Mr. Holmbeck test the program using
the scanners in the Auditor's Office and the scans were clear and the size was normal. Mr.
Montplaisir volunteered to have his office scan the Veterans Service documents so the project
will be completed this year. Timing will depend on when Information Services can obtain access
to the program for the Auditor's Office.

RECESS
With no further budgets to review today, the meeting was recessed at 11:45 AM and will
reconvene at 8:30 AM tomorrow, August 15, 2001.

ATTEST:

APPROVED:

Mr'chael Me'ntp~i~ir - Ad'd'~tor-
Cass County, North Dakota

Jo~n M~yer, Chairman
Cass County Board of Commissioners
