ROTATIONAL DEPARTMENT MEETING JUNE 18, 2001--2:40 PM - 1. MEETING TO ORDER Chairman John Meyer called the Rotational Group "B" meeting to order with commissioners present as follows: Scott Wagner, Robyn Sorum, Alon Wieland, Donna Schneider and John Meyer. Also present were Kathy Ziegelmann, Brad Cogdill and Birch Burdick. Jim Brent was absent. 2. DEPARTMENT ACTIVITIES States Attornev . Mr. Burdick discussed grant positions within his office. He said his department may be receiving less funding for grant positions. . He said if the City of Fargo hires additional police officers, this may have an impact on his department as much of the cases and paperwork that are handled come from the City of Fargo. . He reported earlier that the juvenile drug court program was going to be phased out in October. He said a decision was made to not phase out the program yet. . He said an attorney from his office resigned and he has just completed interviews. He plans to offer the job to someone within the next few days and they will train with the attorney that is leaving. -- Reaional Child SUDDort . Mrs. Ziegelmann said the idea of Regional Child Support becoming a state office will be studied by a legislative interim committee. She said the county will be invited to meetings to provide input. . She does not anticipate budgeting for any additional staff for next year. Extension Service . Mr. Cogdill gave program updates. . He said the 4-H Youth Development Program is involved with the Red River Valley Fair which is taking place this week. . He said he traveled to Washington, D.C. on June 4th to receive an award for superior service from the United States Department of Agriculture for the Cass and Clay County June 2000 flood recovery efforts. 3.
