Personnel Overview Committee--May 21, 2001 3 - In the interest of time, Mr. Wieland suggested forwarding the five remaining reclassification requests to Fox Lawson Associates. He said each position was last reviewed in 1990, with the exception of one that was reviewed in 1994. MOTION, passed Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Berndt seconded to forward the following reclassification requests to Fox Lawson Associates: State's Attorney A13 Senior Clerk (Persons), Auditor B23 Administrative Assistant (Schepp), Auditor B21 Principal Secretary (Worden), Auditor A13 Senior Clerk (Falk), and Auditor C44 Accountant (Ness). Discussion: Mrs. Hogan said some of her staff discussed the possibility of reviewing all of the support staff positions, perhaps next year. Mr. Montplaisir said these positions in his office changed significantly, and others in the office have not changed. Mr. Wieland agreed that positions should not be reviewed if no changes are demonstrated. Motion carried. Sheriff Rudnick questioned a statement in the revised PAQ for the State's Attorney A13 position, and Mr. Burdick will amend the original PAQ to clarify one statement so that it is not misunderstood by anyone. 5. SOCIAL SERVICES, Financial worker reclassification Mrs. Hogan said one of her department's financial workers may not be able to return to work because of a permanent disability. Pending a resignation, she would like to reassign some duties within the Economic Assistance Unit, and she is requesting a reclassification from Financial Worker B22 to Senior Financial Worker B23 so that Food Stamp cases may be assigned to this position. This would allow for a more equitable distribution of cases within the unit, she said. -- Mrs. Johnson asked for the county position number, rather than the position number used by the State Merit System for Social Service employees. Mrs. Hogan will provide that information. In response to a question, Mrs. Hogan said she will not be hiring a replacement for the B22 position, and she said the B23 position will be advertised in-house. MOTION, passed Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Montplaisir seconded to approve the reclassification of position number 5515, and the corresponding Cass County position number, from a Financial Worker B22 to a Senior Financial Worker B23, in the event that this position becomes vacant in the next three months.
