<br />Commission Minutes--May 7, 2001 2282 <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />winter storm, summer storm, hazardous materials incident, urban fire, rural fire, drought, civil <br />disorderlterrorism, mass casualty, dam failure, shortage of critical materials and national <br />security emergency. The Board is being asked to review the document and to hold a public <br />hearing, which will be advertised for the second meeting in May. <br /> <br />Mrs. Schneider said she would like to publicly thank Mr. McDonald for the work he performed <br />during the 2001 spring flood event. She received a number of calls expressing appreciation for <br />the county's involvement and assistance this year. Mr. McDonald said he had a lot of <br />cooperation from others, and especially the County Engineer, Keith Berndt. <br />MOT/ON, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to accept for review <br />and public comment the Cass County Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan <br />and to hold a public hearing before the Cass County Board of <br />Commissioners at the next regular meeting beginning at 3:30 PM on <br />May 21, 2001, in the Commission Room, Cass County Courthouse. <br />On roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />19. VOUCHERS, Approved <br />MOT/ON, passed <br />Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to approve Voucher No. <br />152,094 through No. 152,726. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />_ 20. MEETING UPDATES; JOINT DISPATCH MEETING; COURTHOUSE LUNCH ROOM; <br />BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS UPDATE; CLAY COUNTY COMMISSIONERS JOINT MEETING; <br />NORTH DAKOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION ADVISORY COUNCIL; BUDGET, <br />Committee reports <br />Commissioners and staff reported on meetings they have attended in the past two weeks, as <br />well as upcoming meetings. <br /> <br />Commissioners were reminded to attend a meeting at 7:00 PM this evening at the Heritage <br />Hjemkomst Center in Moorhead concerning joint dispatch. Elected officials and staff from the <br />cities of Fargo, West Fargo, Moorhead, Dilworth, Cass and Clay Counties will be present. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson reported that the Courthouse County Seat Cafe will be operated and managed <br />by Dennis Neumiller of West Fargo, effective next week, because the current operator is moving <br />out of the area. <br /> <br />A buildings and grounds update by Mrs. Johnson indicates the air filtration cleaning has now <br />been completed on the north end of the Courthouse. The ventilation system in the original part <br />of the Courthouse was the area first completed. <br /> <br />-- <br /> <br />The Clay County Board of Commissioners are inviting Cass County Commissioners to attend <br />a joint meeting at Noon on May 22, 2001, at Bennigan's Restaurant in Moorhead. <br />Commissioners Wagner, Meyer and Sorum will attend, as well as several county staff members <br />from both counties. Commissioners Wieland and Schneider have conflicts on that date. <br />
