On roll call <br />vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />NORTH DAKOTA WORKERS COMPENSATION, Volunteer coveraae aDDlication/contract <br />Bonnie Johnson, County Coordinator, requested the Board's consideration in applying for North <br />Dakota Workers Compensation volunteer coverage, specifically for the jail chaplain and jail <br />GED instructor at this time. Birch Burdick said he supports the suggestions Mrs. Johnson is <br />making because he has two volunteers in the State's Attorney's Office now. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Schneider moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to authorize the <br />chairman to sign the application and contract for North Dakota <br />Workers Compensation Volunteer Organization Coverage for <br />volunteers in county offices. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />VOUCHERS, ADDroved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to approve Voucher No. <br />151,575 through No. 152,093. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />25. MEETING UPDATES; FLOOD UPDATE; FARGO SCHOOL BOARD ELECTION; JOINT <br />DISPATCH MEETING ON MAY 7TH; FARGO PUBLIC SCHOOLS ADOPT-A-SCHOOL <br />PROGRAM; NORTH DAKOT AASSOCIA TION OF COUNTIES SEMINAR, Committee reDorts <br />Commissioners and staff reported on meetings they have attended in the past two weeks, as <br />well as upcoming meetings. <br /> <br />Appreciation was expressed by commissioners on the extra work efforts of County Engineer <br />Keith Berndt and Disaster Emergency Services Manager Greg McDonald in their pro-active <br />approach to provide sandbags and holding press conferences to keep the public informed of <br />river flooding the past one-two weeks. <br /> <br />The County Auditor's Office staff will conduct ballot counting after the polls close for the Fargo <br />School Board election tomorrow evening, according to Mike Montplaisir. Future voting will be <br />held in conjunction with the state and county elections. <br /> <br />Ajoint dispatch meeting with local governmental entities is scheduled for May 7,2001, at 5:00 <br />PM at the Heritage Hjemkomst Center in Moorhead. All Commissioners are asked to attend. <br /> <br />Bonnie Johnson, County Coordinator, said it appears there is not enough interest in the Fargo <br />Public Schools Adopt-A-School Program among county employees, and the Board was <br />agreeable to have her communicate to Steve Backsen, Executive Director, Fargo Public <br />Schools Foundation, that Cass County declines participation in the program at this time. <br />
