On roll call vote, the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />LEASE ON FLOOD LOT, ADD roved with Jodv and Karla Slusher <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to authorize the <br />chairman to sign a property lease agreement with Jody and Karla <br />Slusher for a flood buy-out lot located adjacent to their property in <br />Section 6, Pleasant Township. On roll call vote, the motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />10. <br /> <br />CONTRACT APPROVAL, East Central Judicial District Court: Familv HealthCare Center: <br />U.S. DeDartment of Justice. United States Marshals Service <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to approve the <br />following contracts submitted by respective department head, subject <br />to state's attorney approval, and authorize the chairman to sign: On <br />roll call vote, the motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />East Central Judicial District Court--courier services provided by Sheriff's Office; <br />Family HealthCare Center--refugee case aid services; <br />U.S. Department of Justice, United States Marshals Service--boarding federal prisoners. <br /> <br />11. JAIL OPTIONS, ReDort on current iail site <br />Bonnie Johnson, County Coordinator/Jail Project Coordinator, said the County Commission <br />appointed a committee several months ago to quantify current or future space needs that could <br />be addressed at the present jail site. Several meetings have been held, and county staff also <br />met with staff from the City of Fargo to determine whether an opportunity existed to merge some <br />local services, such as providing a single point of delivery for all court services. The Fargo City <br />Commission subsequently voted to proceed with the planning process for Fargo Municipal Court <br />to locate here. This move would allow the city and county to share, rather than duplicate, some <br />services such as secure inmate transfer, holding cells, attorney/client conference rooms and <br />full-time security for anyone utilizing the court services. <br /> <br />The local Historic Preservation Commission and the State Historical Society have also been <br />informed of the planning process thus far, according to Mrs. Johnson. <br /> <br />Architect Rick Hoganson, of Foss Associates Architecture & Interiors, summarized a report <br />prepared by his firm entitled "Existing Jail Site Study, Cass County, North Dakota" and dated <br />March 26, 2001. The report identifies three options which address current and future county <br />needs, as well as some of the opportunities that have been discussed for joint agency <br />participation, such as municipal court and a central dispatch location. Additional items included <br />in the study are inmate transport and holding space for court appearances in the courthouse, <br />space for a growing Information Services Department, updated maintenance facility and secure <br />
