<br />.- <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />-- <br /> <br />Commission Minutes--January 16, 2001 2238 <br /> <br />Commissioners discussed input from the other entities involved, including the water resource <br />district, and Mr. Montgomery said the preferred alternative is 2A in the report, which crosses <br />Drain #40 south of 32nd Avenue North. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Wagner seconded to approve the draft <br />45th Street NW Corridor Study which identifies 150' right-of-way for <br />a four-lane arterial roadway with median and turn lanes to be <br />preserved on alignment alternative 2A and other recommendations as <br />described in the report submitted by the F-M Metropolitan Council of <br />Governments. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />11. <br /> <br />VOUCHERS, ADDroved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Schneider moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to approve Voucher <br />No. 148,508 through No. 149,035. On roll call vote, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />12. <br /> <br />MEETING UPDATES; JOINT DISPATCH STEERING COMMITTEE; JAIL PROJECT; <br />COMMISSION BIOGRAPHY; BUFFALO SCHOOL BUILDING UPDATE, Committee reDorts <br />Commissioners reported on meetings they have attended in the past two weeks, as well as <br />upcoming meetings. <br /> <br />Bonnie Johnson, County Coordinator, provided Commissioners with a copy of the consultant's <br />report concerning a community-wide dispatch center. She said the joint dispatch steering <br />committee is meeting Thursday, January 18, 2001, at 1 :30 PM in the Commission Room, Cass <br />County Courthouse, to review the report. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson attended a meeting of the Fargo Historic Preservation Commission at 7:30 AM <br />today at Fargo City Hall concerning future plans for use of the county jail and sheriff's residence <br />when the new jail facility is operational. She also provided Commissioners with a copy of her <br />remarks to the committee. <br /> <br />The county website has been updated with photographs of current commissioners, and the <br />biography of one commissioner is left to be posted as soon as it is submitted. <br /> <br />County Engineer Keith Berndt was present, and Mr. Montplaisir asked him to update the <br />Commission on Buffalo School demolition plans. Bids are scheduled to be opened February 1, <br />2001, with a proposed contract to be awarded at the Commission meeting on February 5th. Mr. <br />Berndt talked about alternate bids on building demolition, asbestos removal and burying the <br />debris, either on-site or in a licensed landfill. Removal of the underground fuel tanks is included <br />in the demolition contract, and that effort will be coordinated with the North Dakota State Health <br />Department. Mr. Berndt said he has tried to stay in touch with the Mayor of Buffalo and the <br />Buffalo Historical Society representatives throughout this process. <br /> <br />13.
