<br />Commission Minutes-October 2, 2000 2206 <br /> <br />13. MEETING UPDATES; BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS; NDIRF RISK MANAGEMENT; NORTH <br />DAKOTA ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES AND COUNTY COMMISSIONERS CONVENTION; <br />JAIL INMATE FEE POLICY; ELECTION UPDATE, Committee reports <br />Commissioners and staff reported on meetings they have attended in the past two weeks, as <br />well as upcoming meetings. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson reported on buildings and grounds activities and said one of the new jail <br />subcontractors will be holding a demonstration program on their jail security system, and she <br />will inform commissioners when it will be presented in Cass County so they can attend along <br />with jail staff. <br /> <br />October is the month for annual employee safety training under the North Dakota Insurance <br />Reserve Fund (NDIRF) risk management program, and the deadline is October 13th for <br />department heads to review safety policies with their staff and submit a report to Mrs. Johnson. <br /> <br />The annual conference of the North Dakota Association of Counties and County Commissioners <br />Association will be held in Bismarck at the Radisson Inn October 8-10,2000. All Cass County <br />Commissioners, except Mrs. Schneider, are registered to attend. <br /> <br />Concerning the county fee policy for housing inmates at residential facilities, Mrs. Schneider <br />asked County Coordinator Bonnie Johnson to review the policy and form a committee to make <br />any revisions, if necessary. <br /> <br />Mike Montplaisir, County Auditor, reported that absentee voter ballots will arrive in his office at <br />the end of this week. <br /> <br />14. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Koenig moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to receive and file <br />correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: additional form <br />letters from Cass County residents opposing the dike/ditch option as <br />a flood control measure and supporting water retention sites. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />15.
