TREASURER'S OFFICE, Contract with ezgov.com for credit card/Internet payment Mr. Montplaisir gave a PowerPoint presentation on the concept of allowing credit card/Internet payment of real estate taxes. Ms. Sandvik learned of a pilot project in Burleigh County and made the necessary contacts to include Cass County in the pilot project also. She has received an increasing number of calls from taxpayers interested in paying their tax bill in this manner. Mrs. Schneider asked if the State's Attorney has had an opportunity to review the agreement. Mr. Burdick said the liability limitations caused him some concern, and he is waiting for a call from the North Dakota Insurance Reserve Fund about some provisions. MOTION, passed Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Quick seconded to authorize the chairman to sign an on-line services agreement with ezgov.com to allow credit card/Internet payment of property taxes in the County Treasurer's office, subject to review and approval by the State's Attorney and the North Dakota Insurance Reserve Fund. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. 15. VOUCHERS, Aporoved MOTION, passed Mrs. Quick moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to approve Voucher No. 142,705 through No. 143,099. MEETING UPDATES; BUDGET MEETINGS SCHEDULED; JAIL UPDATE; NORTH DAKOTA ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES (NDACO) ELECTS COMMISSIONER WIELAND TO SERVE AS PRESIDENT; NDACO RESOLUTIONS COMMITTEE, Committee reports Commissioners reported on meetings they have attended in the past two weeks, as well as upcoming meetings. Budget meetings will be held in the Commission Room on August 15,16,17,21,22 and 23, according to a schedule provided by the County Auditor's Office. Bonnie Johnson, County Coordinator, said the National Institute of Corrections (NIC) will present a jail workshop for commissioners and transition team members August 29 - August 31 in Cass County on "How to Open a New Institution." Due to the untimely death of Ron Block, President-elect of the North Dakota Association of Counties, Commissioner Alon Wieland has agreed to serve as President in the year 2001. Mr. Meyer said he plans to contact Barry Cox, Benson County Commissioner, about serving again on the North Dakota Association of Counties resolutions committee at the annual convention.
