<br />Commission Minutes--July 3, 2000 2147 <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT HEADS--PLEASE POST IN A CONSPICUOUS PLACE FOR STAFF TO READ <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />JULY 3, 2000 <br /> <br />1. MEETING TO ORDER <br />Chairman John Meyer called the meeting to order at 3:30 PM with all members present as <br />follows: Donna Schneider, Robbie Quick, Alon Wieland, Paul Koenig and John Meyer. <br /> <br />2. MINUTES APPROVED <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to approve <br />minutes of the regular meeting of June 19, 2000, and to approve <br />minutes of the special meeting of June 27, 2000, as written. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />3. AGENDA, Order apDroved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Quick moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded to approve the <br />order of the agenda as printed. Motion carried. <br /> <br />4. RESOLUTION #2000-8, Disaster declaration ratified <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Schneider moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to ratify the <br />following Resolution #2000-8 declaring a disaster due to flash <br />flooding caused by excessive rainfall on June 19 and 20, 2000. On <br />roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Cass County has received considerable damage caused by flooding in <br />certain areas along the Red River, Sheyenne River, Rush River, Maple <br />River and their tributaries; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the political subdivisions within Cass County have received <br />considerable damage from flash flooding caused by 4% to 7 inches of <br />rainfall within a limited time period; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, damages to public and private property, roads, and agricultural land are <br />estimated in the millions of dollars with further losses anticipated. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that pursuant to Section 37-17.1-10 of the <br />North Dakota Century Code, I do hereby declare a disaster for all of Cass County. <br />That all applicable emergency operating plans of the county are hereby activated and <br />shall remain in effect until the disaster is concluded. <br /> <br />Dated at Fargo, North Dakota, this 21st day of June, 2000. <br />
