On roll call vote, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />18. MEETING UPDATES; ANNEX PARKING LOT REPAIRS; COURT SOFTWARE; COUNTY <br />BUILDING ENERGY SAVINGS; WORKERS COMPENSATION TRANSITIONAL WORK <br />PROGRAM; FLOOD MASTER PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING, Committee reports <br />Commissioners reported on meetings they have attended in the past two weeks, as well as <br />upcoming meetings. Assistant State's Attorney Wade Webb was present representing Birch <br />Burdick, State's Attorney, who is attending an out-of-state seminar. County Auditor Michael <br />Montplaisir is also attending a conference out of the state. <br /> <br />Bonnie Johnson, County Coordinator, said temporary repairs to the Annex parking lot are nearly <br />completed, however, she will be requesting money in next year's budget for a more permanent <br />repair job. Concerning a shortage of Annex parking spaces for motor pool vehicles and the <br />monthly employee parking privilege, Mrs. Johnson arranged for two additional reserved parking <br />spots for motor pool cars around the corner from the previous spaces. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson reported on a telephone conference call last week with North Dakota Supreme <br />Court representatives concerning a third-party vendor review of the UCIS and PCSS software <br />integration. <br /> <br />Cass County government saved $38,000 in energy costs over the last year by participating in <br />a load-management program offered by the Northern States Power Company, according to Mrs. <br />Johnson. <br /> <br />A county employee transitional work program is being discussed in Cass County with the North <br />Dakota Worker's Compensation Bureau to encourage injured workers to return to work as soon <br />as possible by placing them in transitional jobs created for each department. Mrs. Johnson said <br />there are also about 150 community service jobs to keep people reasonably employed until they <br />are medically able to return to their regular job with Cass County. <br /> <br />Mrs. Quick noted that the Cass County Flood Master Planning Committee is meeting Tuesday, <br />May 23, 2000, and one of the agenda items is to review the findings and recommendations from <br />the emergency measures sub-committee. <br /> <br />19. CORRESPONDENCE, Received and filed <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Quick moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to receive and file <br />correspondence outlined by the secretary as follows: Motion carried. <br />
