<br />Commission Minutes--May 15, 2000 2124 <br /> <br />authorize the chairman to sign: On roll call vote, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Centre, Inc. and Share House, Inc.--prisoner boarding contracts; <br />North Dakota 911 Association--enhanced 911 agreement; <br />United States Department of Justice--COPS Universal Hiring Grant; <br />Morris Seal Coat and Trucking, Inc.--seal coat on County Highways 6,7, 9, 26 & 28 in <br />the amount of $179,265.56; <br />Roadway Services, Inc.--crack, clean and seal on County Highways 6,7, 9, 26 & 28 in <br />the amount of $158,690.42; <br />North Dakota Department of Agriculture--use of Highway Department yard for one day <br />for a chemical collection site; <br />Caterpillar Financial Services Corporation (Butler Machinery)--5-year lease contract for <br />leasing two Caterpillar motor graders in the amount of $1,582 and $1,397 per month; <br />Deere Credit, Inc. (RDO Equipment)--2-year lease for leasing a small John Deere dozer <br />in the amount of $1 ,350 per month. <br /> <br />12. ELECTIONS, Courthouse designated as absentee ballot precinct <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Schneider moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to designate the <br />absentee ballot precinct as the county courthouse for the primary and <br />general elections, as requested by County Auditor Michael Montplaisir <br />in a letter dated May 10, 2000. On roll call vote, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />13. GLOBAL ELECTRIC MOTORCARS, INC., Public hearing held on CDBG apclication <br />A public hearing was advertised for this date and time on the application of Global Electric <br />MotorCars, Inc. for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) in the amount of $700,000 <br />from the State of North Dakota to assist in the financing of a new production facility for Global <br />Electric MotorCars, Inc. to be located north of County Road 20 in Section 14, Reed Township, <br />Cass County, North Dakota. <br /> <br />Neil Doty, Director of Global Electric MotorCars, was present and encouraged the Board's <br />support of this grant request. He said 30 new jobs will be created as a result of the expansion. <br />Tracey Anderson, Lake Agassiz Regional Development Corporation, was also present to <br />answer any questions. She said the full application documents will be prepared in the next <br />couple of weeks for signatures. <br /> <br />Mr. Meyer invited comments from the public. No one asked 'to address the Board at this time, <br />and the public hearing was closed. <br /> <br />14. ABATEMENT APPLICATION, Denied for Irene M. Hanson <br />Frank Klein, Director of Tax Equalization, provided a written report and supporting information <br />on his investigation of abatement application #4162 and #4163 submitted by Irene M. Hanson <br />for property located in the City of Arthur, North Dakota. Ms. Hanson was notified of the <br />abatement hearing and Mr. Klein's recommendation, but she was not in attendance at today's <br />meeting. <br />
