The accountant <br />in the Auditor's Office, Deb Ness, would be available to work at the Highway Department on a <br />part-time basis to help determine what is needed in that position before a new accountant is <br />actually hired. <br /> <br />Mrs. Quick asked where the new employee would be located while working in the Auditor's <br />Office. Mr. Montplaisir said this person would probably occupy Deb Ness' office, and Deb Ness <br />would relocate to vacant space in the Personnel Office since she works with that department <br />on payroll and financial reporting. A new computer would also be needed for this position in the <br />Auditor's Office. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Schneider moved and Mr. Wieland seconded to authorize the <br />budget adjustments as outlined by the County Auditor in a letter <br />dated April 7, 2000, and to create the shared position arrangement <br />with a grade of C41 Accountant I. On roll call vote, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />19. GRAND FORKS COUNTY COURTHOUSE DEDICATION; COURT SOFTWARE STUDY <br />PARTICIPATION; MEETING UPDATES; FLOOD SUBCOMMITTEE, Committee reports <br />Bonnie Johnson, County Coordinator, invited Commissioners to attend the Grand Forks County <br />Courthouse dedication on Wednesday, April 19th. She and Mr. Montplaisir plan to attend the <br />dedication of their new facility, which was constructed after the 1997 Spring flood destroyed <br />their previous county offices. <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnson said the State Court Administrator's Office is taking steps to hire a consultant to <br />conduct a third party review of the two court software options, UCIS and PCSS. It is unknown <br />what the study will cost, but Commissioners felt Cass County should participate in the process <br />to hopefully bring this to a conclusion. <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mrs. Schneider seconded that Cass County <br />participate in a study regarding bridging the PCSS and UCIS court <br />software systems by paying 50% of the study amount, up to a cost of <br />$5,000. The money would be paid from the county contingency fund. <br />On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Commissioners reported on meetings they have attended in the past two weeks, as well as <br />upcoming meetings. <br /> <br />Assistant State's Attorney, Mark Boening, was present representing the State's Attorney, Birch <br />Burdick, who is out of the state for a conference. <br />
