ABATEMENT APPLICATION, Aooroved for Verrill & Barbara Sprunk <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Koenig seconded that Abatement #4143 <br />through #4148 for Verrill & Barbara Sprunk be approved as <br />recommended by the Highland Township Board and the Director of <br />Equalization. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />7. PERMIT FOR SUNDAY ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE SALES, Club 94 <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to approve a Sunday <br />alcoholic beverage permit for Club 94 at their establishment near <br />Casselton, North Dakota, on the date of January 30, 2000, for Super <br />Bowl Sunday, according to a letter from Jeanne Hersch dated January <br />5, 2000. On roll call vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />8. ROAD DEPARTMENT, Purchase order for dump trailer <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to authorize the <br />chairman to sign a purchase order in the amount of $24,498.00 for one <br />tri-axle, belly dump trailer from Red River Manufacturing. On roll call <br />vote, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />9. SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT, Annual leave extension for Tony Krogh <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to approve annual leave <br />extension request for Tony Krogh, Sheriff's Department, according to <br />Cass County Personnel Policy Section 6.00, and per memorandum <br />provided by Sheriff Don Rudnick from Mr. Krogh. On roll call vote, <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />10. CONTRACT APPROVAL, Pro-WestlUlteig Engineers <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wieland moved and Mr. Koenig seconded to approve the following <br />contracts submitted by respective department head and portfolio <br />commissioner, subject to state's attorney approval; and authorize the <br />chairman to sign: Pro-WestlUlteig Engineers for preparation of a <br />county parcel level base map for future implementation of a <br />Geographic Information System (GIS). On roll call vote, motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />11. TAX EXEMPTION FOR NEW HOME CONSTRUCTION. Not approved in rural area <br />Action on a proposed resolution approving a two-year residential tax exemption on new home <br />construction was delayed at the last meeting for further information on the policies of the Cities <br />of Fargo and West Fargo. Michael Montplaisir, County Auditor, provided a letter dated January <br />10, 2000, indicating that the City of Fargo offers the full $75,000 exemption allowed by State <br />law to people who build homes within two specified areas of the City. Outside of those areas, <br />the exemption is offered on a sliding scale, depending on the value of the house. The City of <br />West Fargo offers the full $75,000 exemption to new houses costing in excess of $75,000. <br />
