<br />CASS COUNTY <br />COMMISSION POLICY MANUAL <br /> <br />DRAFT <br /> <br />38.05-1 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: AMENDED ORDINANCE #1997-3 (CASS COUNTY PARK CAMPSITES) <br />ADOPTED DATE: r 2005 PAGE 1 OF 3 <br /> <br />CASS COUNTY GOVERNMENT <br />AMENDED ORDINANCE #1997-3 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE REGULATING AND RESTRICTING THE USE OF CASS COUNTY PARK <br />CAMPSITES <br /> <br />WHEREASr the County of Cass by and through the Cass County <br />Board operates and maintains the Cass County Park at Brewer Lake <br />for the benefit of the citizens of Cass County and others; and <br /> <br />WHEREASr the use of Cass County park campsites at Brewer Lake <br />has increased significantly from year to year and the demand for <br />campsite services is greater than the available supply; and <br /> <br />WHEREASr there have been increasing occurrences of people <br />parking vehicles and other camping equipment at Brewer Lake <br />campsites and leaving that equipment unattended for extended <br />periods of time; and <br /> <br />WHEREASr County of Cass by and through the Cass County Park <br />Board does not charge any fee for the use of electricity or water <br />at the campsites; and <br /> <br />WHEREASr there are only a limited number of campsites which <br />provide electricity and water services; and <br /> <br />WHEREASr unattended vehiclesr campers or other camping <br />equipment at the Cass County Park Campground is not an effective <br />and efficient use of limited services and becomes a hazard to other <br />campers and a target for criminal activity; <br /> <br />NOWr THEREFOREr <br />Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of the County of Cass <br />that an ordinance regulating the use of campsites at any Cass <br />County park is hereby enacted as follows: <br /> <br />1. Campsites located at any Cass County Park under the direct <br />operation and supervision of the Cass County Park Board will be <br />available to any persons and their camping equipment on a first <br />come first serve basis for a period of time not to exceed ten <br />(10) consecutive days during which time the campsite must be <br />occupied by the person or persons who ownr possessr or otherwise <br />have control of the camping equipment, <br />
