<br />Commission Minutes--January 18, 2005 2847 <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT HEADS: PLEASE POST IN A CONSPICOUS PLACE FOR STAFF TO READ <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF CASS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />JANUARY 18, 2005 <br /> <br />1. MEETING TO ORDER <br />Chairman Darrell Vanyo called the meeting to order at 3:30 PM with all members present as <br />follows: Scott Wagner, Vern Bennett, Ken Pawluk, Darrell Vanyo and Robyn Sorum. <br /> <br />2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br />Mike Montplaisir led the Pledge of Allegiance at this time. <br /> <br />3. MINUTES APPROVED <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mrs. Sorum moved and Mr. Bennett seconded that the minutes of the <br />previous meeting be approved as written. Motion carried. <br /> <br />4. AGENDA, Order approved <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mr. Bennett seconded to approve the order of the <br />agenda with the following additions: 1) lease on flood lot with Kenneth <br />A. Pawluk; and 2) purchase order for Highway Department equipment. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />5. EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT, Budaet adiustment for rural paaina system <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to authorize Cass County <br />Emergency Management to expend $7,200 from the 2004 budget to <br />purchase equipment to upgrade the Cass County rural paging system. <br />On roll call vote, the motion carried with four members voting "Aye" and <br />Mr. Pawluk abstaining. <br /> <br />6. TAX-FORFEITED PROPERTIES, Chairman and auditor to sian deeds to Farao City <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to authorize the chairman <br />and the county auditor to sign county deeds to the City of Fargo for sale <br />of two tax-forfeited lots. On roll call vote, the motion carried with four <br />members voting "Aye" and Mr. Pawluk abstaining. <br /> <br />7. RESOLUTION #2005-1, Support for Main Avenue bridae namina <br />MOTION, passed <br />Mr. Wagner moved and Mrs. Sorum seconded to authorize the chairman <br />to sign the following resolution of support to name the Main Avenue <br />bridge as the "Veterans Memorial Bridge." On roll call vote, the motion <br />carried with four members voting "Aye" and Mr. Pawluk abstaining. Mr. <br />Vanyo recognized two members of the United Patriotic Bodies in the <br />audience, along with Jim Brent, Cass County Veterans Service Officer; <br />and thanked them for bringing the request for support to the board. <br />
