While we do offer the use of motor pool vehicles, we do not
have enough in the motor pool to eliminate the use of
personal vehicles for county business.

Changing the mileage rate does have an effect on the
county's budget. The one department that pays the most in
mileage reimbursement is Human Services, and they did
increase their mileage budget somewhat in anticipation of an
increase in the mileage rate. The rest of the county
departments do not pay significant dollars in mileage
reimbursements, and an increase should not have a great
effect on their overall budget for 2005.

At this time also, I would suggest a small change in the
personnel policy relating to bi-monthly voucher processing,
in order to update the policy to our current practice.

Sincerely,

~~~
Michael Montplaisir, CPA
County Auditor
SUGGESTED MOTION:
Effective Date Car
Jun 30, 1991 $0.25
Jan 01, 1995 $0.30
Jun 07, 1996 $0.31
Sap 08, 1998 $0.325
Apr 01, 1999 $0.31
Jan 14,2000 $0.325
Jan 22, 2001 $0.345
Jan 21, 2002 $0.365
Jan 01, 2003 $0.36
Jan 01, 2004 $0.375
Move to amend Personnel Policy 6.30 effective for travel conducted on or after January 1, 2005.
J:\AUDITOR\Motor Pool\Mileage Rate for 200S.doc
